It was expensive and given too many stars. However I realised Edinburgh is expensive and over priced like London and actually we ended up having a lovely stay. I prefer character to modern. It was quiet even at the front we used shutters to reduce noise, bed comfortable ( new mattress possibly), warm , clean , everything worked well (except a blind and sofa) , breakfast was lovely and reasonable and owner was very helpful and responded quickly by text. We would stay again but not at the price advertised. It was very convenient for getting many different buses and not far by taxi from station. Very safe. The shower had good water pressure and the hotel and surrounding area were quiet. The room was clean. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, the room needs a fan as theres no AC, and a few shelves and a box of tissues would go a long way. We were also supposed to be able to check in at 2 pm but the room wasnt ready until 3 pm (and only then because we were getting impatient). They will hold your bags while you wait.
