"Fantastic choice for a short stay in London - easy to find, super comfy beds, fabulous breakfast and of course, convenient when flying into/out of Gatwick. And even though it's a ways outside the city, it was very easy to use the trains to get to and from. Oh, and it was the quietest room I have ever stayed in - it was almost like we were the only ones on the entire floor! The toiletries were wonderful too. I would stay at Sofitel Gatwick again in a heartbeat!"

"Our room was 30 degrees C on arrival, despite all curtains closed, and the A/C struggled to get the room temp down to a comfortable level. In the afternoon on day 2 it was 26 degrees C. The quieter "AUTO" setting at night couldn't keep the room cool enough for sleeping under the standard heavy duvet... The blue standby light on the small room TV was too bright and had to be turned off on the rear RHS of the TV before trying to sleep. The room was small but nicely decorated. The bathroom was nice, a dripping bath tap to comment on, also discoloured black (white) grout of the tiled bathroom floor. The floor grout was white next to the shower tray! The worst thing about the bathroom was the damaged or worn out toilet seat which needs replacing as it has a broken surface underneath which besides being unsightly must be a health hazard - although it appeared visually clean. Also, the desk lamp in the room did not work. The housekeeping store room was next to the room so there was a lot of noise from 8am every morning. I am sure that doors can be closed with less noise... We didn't eat in at The Globe this time but we did have a couple of drinks. My partner really enjoyed her espresso Martini and the service, especially from the young Irish barman, was, as usual, first class!"

"Fantastic stay with family celebrating mum's 80th birthday. We were even given a free drink each to celebrate. The reception staff were fabulous. So friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The bar staff were lovely. The rooms had everything you needed - handwash, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner & body lotion, fridge, iron, ironing board & hair dryer. The beds were so comfortable. I had the best night's sleep I'd had in ages. And best of all, we had air conditioning which probably also helped with a good night's sleep. It's got a Tesco Express opposite to stock up on all your little treats for the room. The only down side is it's a little bit out of the way with no tube station close by so you need to order taxis / Ubers to get anywhere and we spent a fortune on them. It's also in a smart, quiet area. I would definitely and highly recommend this hotel"
