"Great base."
All up I stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Invictus - 2 at the beginning of my trip and 1 at the end. Hotel was in a good location - 50 min walk to The Vatican. 15 mins to Spanish Steps. Huge plus was breakfast being served from early on which enabled me to get walking early in the day. Staff were extremely amenable - they even kept two pairs of shoes I left behind because they knew I was coming back!

"Great find in Rome"
Lovely little hotel in Rome. Staff were great, always friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and cleaned daily in our 3 night stay with clean towels daily. Breakfast was served from 7.45 to 9.30 each day and was simple but perfect for the day. The only slight downside is the location which is a little way out from the historical centre however it is an easy walk or a bus stop is just across the road. Overall if I returned to Rome I'd stay again.

"Comfortable Hotel"
Rome is a must for everyone, we only had three days (which is not enough). Bought a Roma/Vatican pass beforehand to cover public transport, free and discounted entry to many attractions. The hotel was in a safe place with good connections to the attractions and restaurants.

"Nice place to stay"
We stayed four nights at this hotel. It would have been very confusing as to how to get into the hotel had I not read a previous reviewers tip- having to push the button by the big wooden door at the first entrance- this unlocked the other doors. The hotel is very small(only twenty rooms), and quaint. The staff is very personable and is willing to help you with any questions or problems you may have. The check-in area (on 2nd floor)is not very large and you must walk by it upon entering and exiting your room. They wish for you to leave your room keys with them when you leave the building, which is really fine..this way you know you cannot lose your keys....I guess they can do this because it is such a small hotel. The rooms were spacious enough and clean. The showers were small, and in one of our 2 rooms the air conditioner did not cool as well as the other. The location of the hotel was very good. It was a 2 minute walk to the metro, and 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain and The Spanish Steps. There were cafes close by as well. I would stay at this hotel again.

Friendly family atmosphere, only 14 rooms so didn't really feel like an hotel which was nice. Breakfast room on top floor was particularly nice especially the roof terrace off it.

"Boutique hotel, in the heart of Rome"
Location is only one of the great features! Located on a small, quiet street, besides Piazza Barberini, this hotel is easily accessible by metro, from Termini train station and airport commuter train. Great restaurants and caffees pepper the nearby streets. Easy walking distance to all great sights and monuments allows for short sightseeing trips and quick return for an afternoon nap, or a rest in the lovely courtyard. Scrumptious breakfast buffet refuels for a day of fun in Rome. Friendly staff will make your stay here as pleasant as they can. This hotel has been fully renovated and includes elevator, still retaining its old European charm.

"Great location but very small double room"
This room could not be smaller. There was barely space to walk. It was a double bed for 2 people made with twin sheets. Would have worked for one person. There were larger rooms. If we had the energy to move we would have requested that. Easy access to Metro on a quieter side street with fabulous restaurants in the neighborhood.

Pocket Guide: Rome Via Veneto 3 stars Hotels

Made famous by 'La Dolce Vita' film in 1960, the Via Veneto is going through a glamorous renaissance. Bars, restaurants, chic hotels and boutiques all vie for attention in the street which coined the expression 'paparazzo' – the surname of the photojournalist in the film. Nearby, the Spanish Steps are the place for lovers' trysts, shopping, and honing the Italian art of 'dolce far niente' – idling and people-watching.
