"Welcoming stay at a beautifully maintained guest house in Penrith. The owner Sue was very helpful, with great suggestions for dinner and day trips, and efficient service. The room was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Delicious cooked breakfast. Great location, close to town centre and a ten minute walk from the train station. "

"Wonderful views and the feeling of being in The Lakes. Good spaces for walking the dog. Rooms are spacious and dog friendly with the inevitable trace of dog hairs on the divan bed. I stayed at this place on my way to Buttermere. It allowed an early start on quiet roads and was cheaper than staying in any of the towns en route. I did not eat in the hotel but the nearby services have hot breakfast rolls and good coffe. "

"This was a fantastic find for an overnight stay on our way to Glasgow, wish we could have stayed longer and explored the lake and surrounding areas. The bar and restaurant were very good and the couple who were managing the pub at the time of our stay were excellent hosts. There is plenty of parking and this very old pub has very modern rooms. Would defiantly recommend and stay again. "

"They hosted a function which we attended, The staff were very friendly and helpful, the self catering room was lovely and well equipped and suited myself with mobility needs, as it was on the ground floor and had it's on entrance with only a couple of stairs, once inside the room it was all on one level, We also dinned in the hotel and the food was lovely."
