"Really nice hotel friendly staff We arrived at 1.15 check in was 2pm so we had a couple of drinks and decided to have the carvery lunch which was advertised as 12.30-16.30 However when we went at 15.15 was told that they had run out and closed, obviously very disappointed. Was told the bar would serve food from 4pm so had more drinks and waited Bar food ok nothing special but fine. Rooms were nice but no way to open windows to get fresh air. Beds comfy hotel quiet. "Very clean, lots of hot water & value for money. Some kind of hook needed in bathroom for clothes or dressing gown. Noisy at front of hotel that overlooks a busy A road when windows are open at night. Quiet once windows were closed. "

"This hotel is in a very nice area of Newcastl plenty of very good restaurants well within walking distance. "

"Stayed for 2 nights and could not fault the room and the breakfast was really good. However we decided to order a snack from the menu one evening. I ordered a sandwich, the menu stated fresh bloomer bread, brown or white, tuna, spring onion, mayonnaise and black pepper. When I received this it was 2 thin slices of 50/50 bread, no spring onion and the thinnest filling of tuna, more like spread. The charge for this was £8.00!! Definitely not worth the cost."

"The hotel is quite dated which adds a lot of character to the property. The general areas are relatively clean but the room we were booked in has seen better days. There were some cobwebs near the windows and the floor was a bit dusty. We arrived almost midnight and quite tired so didn’t really do a complete check of the room. "Hotel was ok, was about right for the price. A little noisy at night. Hotel staff were excellent. My partner left some belongings in the hotel room and the staff contacted us a few hours later after we checked out and we were able to collect. Thank you Colin and staff."
