Bring your credit card for sure. Everywhere you turned there was an additional charge. Very nice but expensive. Rooms are a bit small. Hallways are dark. Slime growing under water fall into the pool. Yuk!
First room with connecting door was terrible. Guests next door kept us up all night as we could here everything. Airconditioner also made lots of noise. Hotel staff took great care of the issue and moved us to another room right away. Second, room had a suite and kitchenette. This room made us want to stay longer. It was comfortable, and quiet. Hotel overall was in a great location. Very close to medical center, and eating places. Parking was pretty easy as well, but did fill up second night making it hard to find parking. Would definitely stay there again, but would choose to pay for the deluxe room.
The hotel was on the level that I expect from a Hilton. The staff was very friendly. Check in was quick. The restaurant was awesome, excellent food and very attentive servers. I have two complaints about the room. Even though we were on the to floor, there should have been hot water. After taking two cold showers I decided to let the water fun just to see if hot water would eventually come. It took 30 minutes of running the water for this to happen. That is wasteful. Most people would not even try this. Also if you want to get up and shower right away, it would be impossible. The second thing was that the outlets for hair dryer and curling iron in the bathroom were very loose. They worked but the plug was hanging almost out of the outlet. This cannot be safe. My husband could not even shave in there as the plug for his razor would not stay plugged into the outlet. Another minor inconvenience was that I placed my breakfast order on the door for a 9:00 to 9:30 delivery. The breakfast came at 8:40 while I was in the shower. If my husband had not been there, I would not have heard the door and would have wondered where my breakfast was at 9:30. As it was, by the time I got out of the shower and blew dry my hair, my breakfast was cold. At Marriott hotels, there is a 15 minute window for delivery and if your breakfast is not delivered in that window, it is complementary. Hilton should adopt this policy
This is the most convenient hotel in which to stay if you have business in the Houston Medical Center complex. It is connected to Methodist Hospital and Scurlock Tower by elevated walkways, and is right next door to the St. Luke's towers. Restaurants, pharmacy, gift shops are available on second floor. Parking garage is attached for self-parking, current cost is $11/day; over night parking is allowed. Not sure if all rooms have a refrigerator but mine did.
Stayed here for a conference at the medical center. Compared to the alternatives:
1. It is 15min walk from medical center, the alternatives will be actually on the campus.
2. It is at least half the price of the hotels on the campus.
3. It is in a nice quiet environment, with palm trees and a residential neighborhood. The alternatives are big glass boxes.
4. Rooms have a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove and kitchen sink. Perfect for extended stays.

Visible for miles amid Houston's flat terrain, the Texas Medical Center is the world's largest, with 49 institutions on 1,000 acres. Simply put: the best and brightest practice medicine here, and patient rosters often include heads of state and royalty. Also a cultural hub, the area's oak-shaded boulevards lead to the Museum District, Hermann Park, Houston Zoo, Reliant Stadium, and the Astrodome.
