"I stayed here for four nights. I had a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again. I had a very early flight and arrived earlier than check-in. I was helped by Vivian. She was able to get me into a room a bit earlier. She is an absolute gem! Super kind and friendly. Every single staff member in this hotel is super friendly. It's an older building, but everything inside has been nicely renovated. The room was sweet and had everything you could need. The neighborhood is perfectly fine; right downstairs are a bunch of diners, shops, and, honestly, everything you would need. Go 5 blocks in one direction; it could get a bit sketchy; however, 2 blocks away are Starbucks, Nordstrom, Macy's, and a mini-Times Square, if you will. I traveled solo, and I felt completely safe walking around. Overall, it was a great stay and experience, and I would recommend this hotel. "

"The staff bellboy in evening and morning were great always available to help any way. The day we checked out we were able to leave our luggage and bell boy got us umbrellas as it was raining. Parking was the lowest I shopped around and my car was safe. Transportation the streetcar stops right I front need I say more. Though San Francisco has a homeless issue (who doesn’t) I felt safe in the evening as I did not see homeless on the street hotel was on. Easy to get to public transportation it was the best experience I will definitely be staying here again next time I come to San Francisco. The beds were comfortable loves the antique bathroom heads up if you have nobility issues as if there’s a shower as the tub is tall. Highly highly recommend. "

"Beautiful & comfortable room with a small dining table (which also makes a great work desk), a fridge, and ample light. The staff is amazing and the gym has a peloton bike, many other cardio machines and hand weights."

"Content stay close to everything sadly did not have much time to explore will have to save that for another day. There was not much communication when checking in. it was rather frigid. But i made the most of my time after that interaction. My best friend checked in and it was more of a warm welcoming. I am grateful for her experience with the front desk since we were celebrating her birthday in town. "

"I love this hotel! I've stayed there many times now. They have very unique specialty amenities (listed on the bulletin board in-room), including a record player with records brought in, a typewriter to write postcards and send them, or a diffuser for example. It's a very special hotel because of the focus on commemorating old San Francisco beatnik culture. The period of time of its rise was a unique time in CA history that had lasting impact on various subcultures across the USA, and SF was the epicenter of this movement. The lounge is lovely to relax in, enjoy a drink, and the current cafe attached has very fresh and tasty quintessential California cuisine bites like salmon feta salad and avocado toast. The hotel is close to many landmarks in the City, including Union Square, various museums, and also not far from Coit Tower."

"I absolutely love this place. Everyone is so nice. Doorman, waiter. They pay attention to details . Rooms are gorgeous. Great for walking and shopping. I thought, for a big hotel like this it is pretty quiet. Food at the restaurant was great with great ambiance. I sure recommend it for sure. "
