“very impressed would use the hotel again”
The staff were very helpful and welcoming upon arrival, arranging our trips and giving us ideas of places to visit
“The difference between night and day”
It is a rather stately old hotel that is starting to show its age. Front desk service ranged from very helpful and "eager to please" during the day, to "leave me alone" bored indifference at night. Apart from that, the amenities are fairly good and housekeeping staff were prompt and attentive when called upon. The hotel is located in a safe and convenient area adjacent to Chinatown. Before booking I would review other options in this area. Worth staying a couple of nights!
“A nice hotel”
I have been to San Fran many times and have stayed a various hotels including the Sir Francis Drake which is about a block down the hill from this hotel. I loved the fact that the trolley stopped extremely close to the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful. As a female that was traveling alone, I felt comfortable and safe. I would stay at this hotel again for sure!
“OK for the price”
Older hotel, with remodeled rooms. Main downside of my room was a sort of a sour smell, but it was not unbearable or enough for me to ask for a different room. I would probably go back if the price was the same. Fairly convenient access to downtown and convention center area.
“A cozy and charming place”
I had a really pleasant stay and would definitely come back.
“Go for the king!”
We had booked a queen room and the windows looked out into the middle of the building and so there was no view and no light. The room was above the external aircon unit which made a constant noise. The darkness of the room and the lack of ventilation increased the mouldy smell which is unfortunately present throughout the hotel (no matter what room you are in). The room was clean however but the bathroom was tiny and in need of a refurb. We asked about upgrading and were given a larger, more airy room (classed as a king room) with a more modern bathroom that looked out onto the street and had windows on two sides. The room was far better and we would certainly recommend paying that little bit extra for a king room from the outset. The location is great, very close to the cable cars, shops and china town. The wine tasting was really nice and the staff were welcoming. We would stay there again but would definitely opt for a king room.
“Union Square Bargain”
The Vintage Court on Bush Street is well located to restaurants, shopping and transportation. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well maintained. While it is an older hotel, it is vey comfortable. I stay here whenever I am in San Francisco. The common belief that hotels in San Francisco are expensive is not true.
“Smell”
The hotel has a strange smell all the time , the room was so noisy, It was a machine all the time on producing the sound. The people that work in the hotel were nice.
“Had a great stay in a great location”
We wanted a location close to Union Square and this was perfect. Lots of good restaraunts within walking distance and it was just up the hill to the cable cars. The hotel was older like we had read in some reviews before we got there, but it was kept up well. The 5:00pm wine tasting was a nice addition. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends. Might not bring kids here, but other than that go for it!
“pretty good”
close to a cable car line.
