“Clean and convenient”

Hotel is in a great location walking distance to Fishermen's Wharf, Lombard Street, the Cable Car, hop on hop off bus and a supermarket. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. The breakfast is basic and high on carbs and sugar but you will walk it off up those SF hills. Will go back.

“Would go back again!”

Holiday Inn Express has yet to let us down in all the Cities we've been to in the past year. San Francisco was no different. We're pretty concerned over the Bed Bug infestation that seems to be on the rise, not just in Hotels, but in Library's, Retail Stores and Movie Theaters so we really check out the mattressess everywhere we stay... we were pleasantly pleased to see that the Holiday Inn Express continues to live up to it's reputation of having clean rooms. Wish we had a fridge, but other than that.. the air/heat worked wonderfully and the bath towels were the best we've ever had. The bed itself wasn't too soft or hard and the water was immediately hot in the shower and sink which is always nice not having to wait. :) The breakfast buffet each morning had such a variety of choices for everyone. Terrific value for the price of each room.. of course the parking everywhere now a days is horrible. $45 for each night so we parked our car in a nearby garage for $20 a night and walked 2 blocks to the hotel. Not a big deal. We totally recommend this hotel.

“Nice Hotel but noisy”

Good location, can walk to most places, nice and clean, good breakfast, get up early for the bacon before it goes. Breakfast area can get a bit busy in the mornings, but good selection. Our biggest complaint was the noise in our room from other guests walking talking etc in the corridor, something we havent experienced to that extent in other hotels. May have helped to be the furthest possible from the lifts (we were not next to the lifts).

“Location, location, location!”

If you're doing San Francisco as a tourist, you can't beat this hotel. Close to all tours and attractions near or on Fisherman's Wharf. Clean, comfy rooms. Decent choices for the included brakfast gets you on your way efficiently, but it can get somewhat crowded. The breakfast area is really the only big improvement. That and lacking Wi-Fi availablity, although hard wire inernet service is available in all rooms. Would I go back or recommend it? In a heartbeat!.

Area recommendations

Aside from the Tenderloin, all areas in San Francisco seemed pleasant and safe to walk around in.

For San Francisco, best time to visit is September to mid-November.
