A ten-minute walk from the Kulturforum (a huge cultural/art center) and Potsdamer Platz in downtown Berlin, the location of this hotel was perfect for me. There is so much to see and do right close by, including a stroll through the Tiergarten (huge park for walking or biking). The hotel itself is first rate, and my only complaint about the room would be the TV was old and small. But in a several day stay, I rarely watched anyway. I appreciated the free wifi, as well as swimming every day in the pool. The desk staff and concierge were always friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!
I had high hopes for this hotel and it exceeding my every expectation. Want a bike/car/ipad? No problem, all free and provided with a smile. The room we stayed in was a jungle M which comes complete with a hammock, view of the zoo & tiergarten and beautiful sustainably sourced shampoo and body wash. Everything about this hotel is cool, the rooftop monkey bar was packs but we were served quickly and allowed to take drinks back to our rooms after last call.
We thought the hotel might be a bit out on a limb but instead it was an easy walk from the main zoo station and a lovely bus ride on the 100 (from just down the road) takes you through the Tiergarten into town past lots of sights or the 200 goes from right outside to Postdam Plaza. The hotel was perfect, huge room for our family of three and coming back to the pool and spa in the evening with tired feet was just lovely. The main sights are spectacular-best off all the Riechstag Dome and view from the cathedral Dome, the zoo, the DDR museum (hands on) and just wandering around. Public transport was easy and cheap (16 euros a day for the 3 of us on all transport was amazing-buy a 5 person ticket even if there arent that many of you-it works out cheapest) The weather was glorious for October so we spent most of our time wandering the streets looking at the sights and sounds. It sounds obvious but Berlin is huge so try and plan what you want to see if you are time limited and book the Reichstag ahead. We didnt really do any of the museums-so plenty of scope to return!
