Credit where credit is due, a very nice, welcoming, clean and well priced B&B. Service with a smile, the views out the back of the B&B where gorgeous ! Clean and modern bathroom which had a large shower. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast set me up for the day!
Guidfa House is a truly excellent B&B. Our room was comfortable and attractively decorated with a small but adequate en-suite shower room that was nice and clean. For breakfast there is a good choice of cold and hot foods. I personally really enjoyed the cold platter and my wife's smoked salmon with scrambled eggs was just perfectly done. Although the house is by a road traffic island on the A44 north of Llandrindod Wells we were not disturbed by traffic noise. It is a short drive into Llandrindod Wells to get an evening meal. Guidfa House is an ideal place from which to explore Mid-Wales. We would not hesitate to return.

"Friendly staff, lovely room, clean and welcoming"
Working on a local event meant arriving very late and leaving very early. The owner stayed up to make sure we got in ok and packed a massive packed lunch for us because we left before breakfast. Room was big and clean and the hotel was lovely
Beautiful converted 'workhouse' full of character. Clearly this is work in progress, as all the information states, and that is also fascinating. The areas that have been renovated are excellent, and the room we stayed in was quite unique and full of charm. Great breakfast too.

Arrived and checked straight in. Dropped bag off in room and proceeded to the bar. The village drunk was at the bar absolutely paraletic. He was swearing and we found it rather intimidating. The bar staff did say to him, anymore and you will have to leave. He eventually staggared out and that was the end of him...
Anyway, we had a lovely meal. There was a singer on as it was friday evening. She was quite good. The pub had a nice atmosphere. We had a nice sleep in our room.
One thing though. The kettle was too large to fit underneath the tap resuting in not enough water in kettle.
All in all though its a nice hotel with lovely bar area. A nice beer garden as well....
This B&B attached to a lovely restaurant in a very lovely, peaceful and tranquil area. You can unwind in the garden with a complimentary pot of tea on arrival and enjoy the hill side views and tame valley.
The food is amazing and chef Ken serves a variety of cuisine that would be hard to beat in a star restaurant. Nothing is too much trouble and Isobel is a great hostess. The stay made a lovely weekend away from the children even better and I would highly recommend either a meal or stay there.

We had planned a two week excursion throughout the UK and Ireland and was just looking for a place to stay the night somewhere between southern Wales and Hollyhead for the ferry. We chose Rhayader just for its location in the middle not expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel which is a small converted bed and breakfast. The furnishings are older but clean and well maintained. We had two rooms, one with two beds and another with one double bed; both had private bathrooms, television and Wifi. The breakfast was good in the morning and when we checked out the hotel owner told my husband all about the local water reservoir that was on the street signs when we drove in. At his recommendation we visited them and it was a beautiful last day in the Wales with a great memory of a small town there. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a night away without too much hassle.
