friendly staffs. able to communicate in English, room is clean, cold a/c, has a balcony if want a fresh air, accesible to two main stations (termini and tuburtina), bus stop is just right the front, lots of choices for breakfast. the only very slight downside are the pillows. they're a bit hard but it's a personal preference and there should be more english channels but again because I can't understand Italian/Spanish. over all we are very happy with our stay.
Lovely small hotel, rooms smallish but stylish, breakfast on the roof terrace very good. Metro 100mtrs away and 4 short stops to the colosseum. Cafe restaurant opposite the hotel used by local business people, and a super traditional Italian restaurant Gran Sasso 300 yards away( recommended by the hotel, good food, good host and too cheap for what you were getting, we went twice) . Dont forget Rome tourist tax added on departure. Ps use the trip advisor site for restaurants and you wont slip up, we did apart from one lunch and one dinner , they were the worst.
The Taverna dei fori Imperiali near the Forum also recommended , had a great night with friendly owners daughter.
Dont forget Roma pass and the Omni pass for Vatican, no queuing and free transport. We did yhe 3 day Omni pass for £75 ,free admission, no queues, open top bus for 3 days and metro, great buy.
Breakfast included was pastries, coffee, etc. The staff was super friendly. We took the cushions from the fold out couch for our daughter and asked for an extra blanket, the maid very day even made her 'bed', which made my little daughter feel so special. :-)
Rooms were very cool with the a/c, which we really enjoyed. Rooms were quiet as well.
Athena hotel was truly a great choice, from the location to its staff, my family and I had a brilliant stay for seven nights. The hotel has so many shops near buy so you won't go hungry and has great links to the main hub, Termini Station. We walked there everyday and it took us about fifteen mins.
The staff were amazing, in particular the two female members of the team, but all staff were helpful! Our hot water wasn't working for a bit and one of the staff immediately issued another room to have a shower in, the service is brilliant!
Our room was clean and it had air con and a TV, both worked. The breakfast was delicious with a wide range of foods available. Our experience as a family was really good and we found it hard to fault the hotel. It was brilliant!
The hotel owner Enzo was the best! After checking in he literally took us around the city to all the good the spots, which was awesome! The parking isn't free but it's located very close to everything which makes it convenient having the bus stop very close to the hotel. Overall this place was great for the location and the service!
