We booked a Grand Club room which we thought was room only
To our surprise when we checked in - we also had access to the Grand Club on a specific floor only for the people who booked a Grand Club room. This included free Continental breakfast and Snacks and Soft drinks free all day
Having enjoyed many weekend breaks in New York over the last 15 years (all booked through Expedia) my daughter and I have built up a pretty fair view of a number of Midtown hotels. It would be fair to say that we have never been disappointed. However, in virtually every category, the Kitano comes out top of our list. The location on Park Avenue really could not be bettered. The staff to a man and a woman were wonderfully courteous and helpful. The style and layout of our beautiful corner twin bedded room were perfection. And a very special word of appreciation for concierge Raita who somehow managed to track down a desperately needed dentist on a Sunday morning!
"Great clean hotel close to Grand Central Station"
This hotel is very clean and close to Grand Central. The mattress is fully encased in a cover and although it was a little soft it provided a comfortable sleep. The cold breakfast had many choices and the fruit was very fresh. We appreciated that it was included along with in room wi-fi. The staff were always friendly and made us feel welcomed. Check in and out was easy. We will definitely stay there again.
We stayed one night (Saturday) in a deluxe room on the 30th floor. The room was spacious and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were quite a few sirens outside but I imagine that is common. The location is a great starting place to explore midtown. I will stay there again.

By NYC standards, the rooms are enormous. Comfortable bed, high quality bathroom and products, attractive and new surfaces, TV, A/C, you name it. Just a couple of blocks from Grand Central, lots of good drinking and eating nearby. Friendly and professional staff. A terrific experience on my first visit, would definitely return.
When we checked in we were greeted by Daniel. He was very happy, kind, considerate. Gladys came over and was equally friendly.
Our room on the 8th floor was comfortable, clean and modernly pretty.
Our friends room on the 12th floor was so spacious you could get lost in it.
We would stay here again.
Shared bathroom but it was next door to my room and exceedingly clean. Reminds me of a European boutique hotel. Free coffee downstairs included espresso. Sink in the room. Complete set of towels, bathrobe and slippers were provided in my room. Special thanks to desk clerks Emanuel and Ryan. Emanuel showed me a subway route on the map he provided which gave the maximum visual impact of Tower One when coming up from the station. Ryan answered all my questions including the closest place to buy a recharge cable. Located within walking distance(with luggage) of Grand Central Station, it is an ideal place to stay. Also they gladly store your luggage (free) if you get in before your room is ready.
