this was our first trip to Rome and were unsure where to stay so we made the choice to stay out of town to save some money on hotels. After reading the reviews we chose Ponte Bianco. This trip was to celebrate 40yrs of marriage. The decision to stay out of town was justified by being quieter and also it was nice to be in a residential area away from the tourists, we found local shops and cafes to be very helpful and cheap.
The site we booked through, mistakenly placed this B&B in the centre of the city, close to Fontana di Trevi. We did not spot the mistake and was surprised on arrival that the B&B was in the 'burbs. This did not matter, the tram is just a block away, and only a quick ride into the city. We also discovered the Trastevere district which we may have missed otherwise. Very nice.
The place was ok, not spot clean but good enough. You have to make your own breakfast, and it was a little disappointing, only toast and jam. We had juice too, but I strongly suspect it was left from an earlier guest since it was never topped up. The toaster was more like a bread-drier, it slowly converted the bread to crackers rather than toasting it. This made us try the oven to toast the bread, but it turned out it was out of order so no luck...
It was a very "stay at home" feeling at this place.
