Was great arriving on a boat to see the hotel as we approached.
Being central you might expect this to be noisy, but we found it fine and noise stopped by 11pm each night.
Close to all amenities, not far from cable car so look this aint five star, but it is fine and does what it says on the tin

We wanted to return to Malcesine after 15 years since our last trip, and we booked this hotel which is in Navene, 3 miles away from Malcesine, an hour walk, which we did several times, and a pleasant walk it is, but you can use the tourist bus which runs every hour.
The views are lovely, however if you are b&b you are limited to 3 restaurants about 10 mins walk from hotel.
We went early September and the weather was still good, and we were able to find room to swim on the lake which is just across the road.
If you have transport this hotel will be perfect but it is a distance away from any night life
I would not stay at this hotel myself as it is a bit too far from the town, but welcomed the experience this time round
Proberly one of the best views of the lake from our room. Staff were extremly helpful when my wife was not well for a day. They phoned the local chemist to see if it was open as it was a Sunday. As we were there for a wedding they took an intrest as to how it went. They made sure that any taxis we required were there on time. Our taxi driver was a friend of the hotel who was a font of all knowledge with reasonable rates. Will definitely go back again. Hotel is situated approximatly 20 minutes walk along the edge of the lake into Malcesine where you can eat & drink in some of the many resturants & bars. Several boat trips can be arranged from the town.
"Great hotel in Malcesine, close to MonteBaldo lift"
We loved Hotel Ariston. Decor is modern and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. We were in room 23 on top (3rd) floor with view of the lake, which I recommend. Our room looked directly out onto the tower and the view was fantastic. Breakfast was good, especially outside on the patio or in the relaxing garden.
The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming and helped us every day. Renatta at the desk answered all of our questions, and went out of her way to help us. We wanted to golf one day, very impromptu, and she called the place to ensure that we could get on. The course didn't answer, so she called back. Again, and again, and again until she got them and heard that they had a spot for us. It was a delight speaking with her and all the staff there.
I needed an iron one morning and asked a maid that was in hallway. She didn't speak English and my Italian is not very good either. We laughed at each other pointing and gesturing and finally figured it out. She walked me down to the basement and showed me what I needed.
The Italian people in general are warm and friendly. The staff at Hotel Ariston are great representatives of this. We felt welcome there from minute one.
The only suggestion I'd make is to improve the wifi signal on the upper floors. We found that we needed to do internet in the lobby, which was fine by us. We took care of this in the morning at breakfast before heading out for the day.

We were ordered about by the daughter of the owners and treated despicably. We left after one night even though we were booked for 4 nights. The owners control everything from reception (air con, electronic door keys) and perhaps more. We felt we were being watched continuously. We were told to BE QUIET on several occasions when complaining about no air conditioning. The hotel control the temperature from reception so it cannot be changed in the dark hours. At breakfast we were the first ones down, and after allowing us to sit down, we were told that we were sat at the wrong table. FAWLTY TOWERS without the humour.
If you like being controlled and ordered around, this is the hotel for you. We went back to Lake Como where we were treated very well indeed.
