"Last minute booking for Easter weekend. Turned out to be a great little hotel with some grounds with a stream and a lake for the dog/ kids to explore. Some gray pubs nearby for dinner (Ye Olde George). The owners are very friendly and showed us the historic cellars. Great for a break, room was smallish but had everything needed."

"We just got home from our stay at Lancaster Cottage and compelled to write a review as it was just lovely. In a beautiful location albeit we did not pick the best weather, Sarah could not have been a lovelier host. I had injured my shoulder and somehow got a chest infection before travelling and she made sure she kept my ice pack frozen for me. Nothing was too much trouble. "Lovely room and amazing shower. A few things that would improve overall visit- the green emergency light above the bedroom door casts light into the room all night and really impacts sleep for people who need a dark room? It was rather like having a nightlight you could not switch off. Would also be nice to have more than one towel and a mirror in the bedroom to dry hair. Comfortable bed but I didn’t sleep well due to the light issue unfortunately "

"All was good with our stay however we only had one towel and one cup/ hospitality items- we raised this as we left and were told they didn’t know 2 people were staying although said : on Booking Also we were surprised to be charged £10 for onsite parking just for one night it seemed excessive "

Host was very friendly and welcoming, we unfortunately didn’t get chance to try the homemade breakfast as we had to check out early. Cons: host was not there to greet us upon arrival and so the neighbour/tenant had to check us in. Location can be hard to find. Look for the flag at the end of the road - gravel driveway."
