A well positioned hotel in the centre of W. Berlin

Posted 01-Mar-2014
Pros: Warm, attractive, safe, well positioned. A taxi rank opposite.
Cons: The internet, I guess
Location: You are one block away from the Ku'Damm, the old main shopping street of West Berlin. Cinema, theatre, history, music, food and all within 5 minutes
I did not get to use all of the facilities but I ate in the restaurant one evening, which was very pleasant. It attracted a wide range of clientele from the hotel and possibly outside of a variety of ages. The reception staff were vary friendly and knowledgeable. The only problem I had was the internet. It was a Swisscom based system and I have always found problems getting access with Swisscom all around Europe. So after many attempts I used roaming on my mobile phone, and gave up trying to use the internet. I shall happily use this hotel again, when my work calls for me to be in that quarter.

Stylish and convenient central location

Posted 13-Feb-2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff & all facilities were clean and well maintained. The funky bar was perfect for an early evening drink before heading out.
Cons: Nothing. I have found this hotel to be a good choice.
Location: Tiergarten, zoo, coffee bean shop and very close to Kurfurstenstasse, which has all the usual shops. U-Bahn to get you anywhere.
This was my second stay at this hotel and I enjoyed the location; including the proximity to Tiergarden for running. The facilities are good including the small but completely adequate gym/sauna etc and the bar is modern with really friendly service. The budget room, which I opted for this time as it was a very short stay, was on the small side but really not a problem. Both times I have stayed I have found this to be a good choice of hotel for both sight seeing and relaxing breaks. There were clearly business guests too.

The hotel is new and the staff is really welcoming. Located in the center only five minutes walking to the Hard Rock Cafe.

Location and price are good, but service lacking

Posted 07-Sep-2013
Pros: Artwork and modern style of the rooms.
Cons: Hospitality of the front desk staff. Better stocking of towels in the bathrooms - threadbare quality and only given one bath sheet and one hand towel.
Location: Close to the KuDamm and nearby shopping.
Booked room due to amazing price and cleanliness of photos. Rooms are very small, but well maintained. Location is convenient for sight seeing - a block off The KuDamm, close enough but not right in the middle of things. The front desk staff was not very friendly and did not extend themselves to be helpful. Local friends had called three different times and two of the times the phone was never answered. Requests were answered with a curt no or yes without any further explanation. Language did not appear to be the issue, but rather attitude. The hotel facilitates are nice enough, not luxe. The breakfast seemed overpriced whether it was the full buffet or the express breakfast at half price. You can easily find a better breakfast for cheaper elsewhere.

Art'Otel Review - August and September 2013 Stays

Posted 06-Sep-2013
Pros: Location, friendly staff, clean and inexpensive. Free internet that is functional for emails and basic browsing.
Cons: We like art but found the picture of Marilyn Munroe's face a bit much. The pot lighting in the room that is a bit difficult to work with.
Location: Major shopping street one block over. 24 hr. Convenience and multipurpose store. Lots of restaurants and close to Zoo.
We had booked a Baltic cruise leaving from Warnemunde on August 22nd and returning on September 2nd. We booked the hotel for one day before and 2 days after the cruise. Our overall experience was great. We arrived early in the morning on August 21 (about 10:00 am) from the airport and were fortunate enough topbe able to get into our room and catch some sleep to get over our jetlag. The staff was friendly and helpful; The front desk attendant honoured our special request for a King bed and was very helpful in suggesting things we could do that day. We were given information about a restaurant/bistro area about 4 blocks from the hotel and had an excellent and enjoyable dinner outdoors. On our way there we discovered a 24 hour grocery/convenience/liquor/restaurant within a half block of the hotel. That turned out to be our breakfast and cappuccino place for all 3 days that we were in Berlin. We arrived about 5:00 pm after our cruise was over and check in was super smooth. We got a bigger room with a King Bed and staff was very helpful in explaining the public transportation system on how to get around in Berlin (we are newbies to public transportation and appreciated the patience of the staff). There were no issues with billing when we left and the front desk helped to print out our boarding passes the day before. For our needs, this is an excellent location and the price we paid for both parts of our stay was excellent. Expedia was excellent also.

Decent place shame about staff

Posted 02-Sep-2013
Pros: Cleanliness Standard of furniture
Building and location are good Breakfast nice But staff lied to our face twice and showed minimal willingness to be helpful. Guest focused they are not. 2 examples - would not give a spare room key and did not want to call their partner hotel to enquire about a booking error they made. Poor attitude.

A touch of class

Posted 31-Aug-2013
Pros: Public areas and rooms.
Cons: The breakfast buffet has an excellent selection, but sometimes the hot items can be a little cold
Location: Wine, dine, relax.
Everything about this hotel impressed me, from the appealing foyer area, the helpful and friendly front desk staff, and finally the spacious well equipped rooms. The shower and wet room must rate as one of the best that I have used. The hotel is situated on a main road, but there is no noise from the road if you close the windows and take advantage of the air conditioning. Within a 10 minute walk there are numerous bars and restaurants, the u Bahn at uhrlandstrasse, the s Bahn at savignyplatz, and local bus services to the zoo, and grunerwald. Take time to explore the local area.

Clean and friendly hotel

Posted 18-Aug-2013
Pros: Cleanliness and decor
We had a wonderful stay at Art'otel. The rooms were very clean and the staff were helpful. Although the hotel wasn't in the centre, it wasn't far from the s-bahn, making everything accessible.
