Pleasant, friendly hotel in good Berlin location

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: Well priced room, very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent facilities, including bar and restaurant.
Cons: Bathroom tended to flood a little whenever I had a shower, due to it having no door.
Location: Located by Kurfürstendamm, with plenty of shops and restaurants. Connections nearby to City Centre, Potsdam.
Very good hotel, at reasonable price. Friendly, informative staff that were very helpful. Good location, 10 minutes walk to nearest U-Bahn and 15 minutes walk to Berlin Zoo and Zoo Station for more connections. Lots of restaurants nearby and shops catering for various needs.

Fabulous stay

Posted 08-Aug-2014
Pros: Very helpful staff and great location
Cons: The Aircon could be a little better but it was still comfortable.
Location: Walking distance to fabulous restaurants and cafés. Lots of Moroccan and Italian cafés. Walking distance from excellent shopping and tour bus stop.
We stayed here for 4 nights. We had a suite that was spacious and very comfortable. The king size bed was a godsend after 4 weeks of double beds prior! The staff were very helpful, breakfasts delicious and location perfect! We would most definatly stay here again.

Good location within walking distance of Ku'damm

Posted 29-Jul-2014
The art'otel is modern, comfortable and friendly but I had an issue with room 115's wetroom extractor fan and a constantly wet Cold floor. Food was good and the location excellent, within 1km of 'Western' city centre Berlin and walking distance of Zoo bahnhof for access all city transport and International rail connections. Berlin doesn't sleep and has endless opportunities for fun, historic and informative tours. With a multitude of food options indoors and out at reasonable cost and a friendly happy atmosphere totally geared to visitors. "Must see" area for me is Bernauer Str.Take the train to Nordbahnhof from the Brandenburg gate and start reading the info' boards in the corridor towards Bernauer Star. Understand the wall and walk the open museum then enter the indoor one and view a flight around the wall. Don't miss the Holocaust memorial just south of the B'burg gate and take in the Potsdamer Platz tower view, far less busy and costly than the TV tower in Alex. So much to see and do - walk the Tiergarten, head for Potsdam to the south West. If you've never been before you do well to go on guided city tours daily from outside the zoo station. Excellent value for money and full of endless information for a greater understanding of this amazing city and it's unique existence with the Wall.

Nice hotel close to shopping and restaurants

Posted 05-Jul-2014
Cons: The room was a bit smelly. Think it may have been dampness in the carpet.
The hotel was nicely situated. We were within walking distance of all that we needed. The hop on - hop off bus stop was close to the hotel which was a bonus as well as the train station and U Bahn.

Good location- great value

Posted 17-Jun-2014
Pros: Location. Price. Staff
Cons: Wifi maybe a little slow. Breakfast at 15 euro seems expensive but seemed to be average for Berlin hotels
Location: see above
Got this on a deal averaging about £35 a night. Cannot complain for the money. A few minutes walk from the U bahn. Near shops and restaurants. All major sights within a underground ride. Staff were all excellent and helpful. Rooms were fairly simple but clean and comfortable and made a little nicer with decoration that gave them a more upmarket feel. Big bathroom too and generally not a bad sized room for a European hotel

Tarted up travelodge

Posted 20-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
This is essentially no more than a travelodge with Andy warhol pictures everywhere and so long as you expect and pay as much it's fine. We paid £100 for 3 nights so I wasn't too fussed about the massive stain on the carpet or the fact the shower is so poorly designed the water goes all over the bathroom floor. On the plus side it was clean and in a nice neighbourhood with good restaurants. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Overall you get what you pay for, just make sure you don't pay too much as they seem to often have deals on.
