Dining
The Restaurant Café Madrid is located on the 1st floor of the Meliá Berlin and offers a great view to river Spree and Friedrichstrasse.
Morning - Breakfast: In the morning the restaurant offers an extensive breakfast buffet with show kitchen for your personal wish of egg dishes.
Afternoon: Throughout the week (except the weekend) the restaurants serves at noontime an exclusive business lunch and at teatime home made cakes and fancy cakes form our own patisserie.
In the evenings: Additional to the marvellous view to the lighted Friedrichstrasse at night, the menu also offers a great selection of local and international dishes.
Located in the heart of Berlin you can find a typical piece of Spain - the bar “meliá tapas”.
The tapas bar is a local meeting point to relax and enjoy.
Traditional tapas cooked according to the original recipe and “Tapas (R)evolution“, which are new creations of the Spanish cuisine, are on offer. Nevertheless, also the furniture and atmosphere – black shale, smoked oak parquet, warm colours, Spanish items and music make you feel like in a typical tapas bar.
Every Tuesday and Thursday Spanish and Latin-American live music.
In summer season you can sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful summer time during the day and night while tasting the extensive selection of Spanish food.

“Stay Here!!”
I would recommend this hotel a hundred times over. The location was fantastic, the room was fantastic, the staff were fabulous, the restaurant and breakfast were faultless (the tapas was amazing, great value for money, try the delicious chorizo!). We have stayed in a lot of places and I have nothing bad to say about this place. Also, it has underfloor heating in the bathroom which is a fantastic little luxury when you have been walking around in the rain all day! The room was made up nicely daily and all the toiletries replaced. The mini bar is overpriced but there is a great little supermarket a couple of doors along for beers, snacks etc. This hotel is great, we would come back here in a heartbeat!
“A great hotel - unbeatable value”
I stayed with my partner at this hotel beginning of December for a week - which is a great duration to properly feel Berlin, and the Melia hotel was an amazing base. I chose it due to positive reviews + a very good value price for standard rooms and I've got to confirm: service is excellent, really good. And I confirm, rooms overlooking the backyard are SUPER silent. The only thing I would question from the comments is whether paying the extra to be on the chic floor is worth it - honnestly the river is nice but it's no Venice so I'm not sure paying an extra 30% or so is worth it to be honest. Finally do subscribe to their club, which is free and gives you 2 for 1 on breakfast, thus making it really good value. The only negative is there is NO free entertainment, only CNN and BBC for english speaking channels - the additional channels you get for 5€ a day are not worth it - so be prepared to either bring your own or pay full price for movies (which we did!).
“Very comfortable”
Very comfortable hotel but zero atmosphere
“perfect hotel”
Brilliant location. Very clean and comfortable room. Helpful staff.
“Melia Hotel Berlin”
Great location, great hotel
“Melia Berlin-Outstanding”
I don't usually review the hotels i stay in, however after our stay here in the melia i felt compelled to. The hotel location couldn't be faulted less than 30m away from the u bahn and at the top of the busy Freidericstrasse it was the perfect base for exploring any of the city. The hotel itself was very welcoming and clean. The staff polite and helpful. I've stayed in a few 5 star hotels and the room we got here was just as good as some of these. The hotel restaurants also seemed to be a big hive of activity with people who weren't staying at the hotel which provided a nice atmosphere. The price was amazing. The only fault i had was that we asked for a double room and got 2 twin beds together, however for the price we got the room and the rest of the attractions of the hotel, we couldn't complain. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone, and if i return to Berlin i will certainly be making this hotel my first port of call.
“Relaxing but stimulating break”
Have stayed in lots of hotels in different countries but this was definitely one of the best.Very comfortable, convenient location and attentive but not oppressive staff. Breakfast sounded expensive but was well worth the money as the choice was exceptional. Would have no hesitation in going back and am indeed looking for my next break in a Melia Hotel
“Fabulous - definitely go”
The hotel was in an excellent position, a very short walk from a station on the Express line to the airport. Very convenient for designer shopping, museums, art galleries, good restaurants, river trips. Close and in walking distance to Brandenburg gate and other great buildings. The level is definitely worth paying for, the lounge is a good facility when travelling with friends, the complimentary tapas, snacks and drinks are really good. Breakfast consists of a wide range of delicious goodies. Staff delightful and helpful too. We have been making city visits for over 12 years and this is the best hotel for all round excellence we have visited.
“definately return to this hotel,superb”
great hotel, great food and great location, brilliant
“Wonderful”
This is a quality hotel with all the comforts of a 5 star hotel! The staff are truely attentive especially the concierge who's knowledge of the surrounding areas and what to see was astounding. The room we had ovelooked Friedsrichstrasse and was huge, clean, with comfortable beds and pillows and soundproofed allowing for a good nights sleep. The location is excellent with the Ubahn and S Bahn directly oppostie. If you are flying into Tiegel airport, catch the TXL bus. This drops you off on the corner of Unter den Linden and Friedrichstrasse. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the hotel WONDERFUL and only costs 2.30 Euro each. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and woudl certainly return:-)
