“Anonymous”

Hotel itself was fantastic; in a safe and central neighbourhood and absolutely gorgeous. People were friendly and concierge are absolute experts on shops and destinations in the area. Only problems I encountered were that one morning housekeeping came around at about 8:30 in the morning, opened our door, turned on our light and then realised that we'd been asleep. 5 minutes later the person who restocks the minibar did the same thing. We thought it was a bit early to be conducting housekeeping and didn't appreciate being woken up. Second thing that was a bit of an issue was that once I got home and checked my bank statement I realised that they'd conducted three transactions without my permission or knowledge; one charging me 200 Euros, one refunding it and another charge. I am waiting for a reply from the hotel as to why these took place, as well as waiting for the refund for the last one. Overall great hotel, very comfortable and excellent location to everything.

Great hotel, situated perfectly to explore Berlin. 20 euro taxi ride from Tegal airport. Would recommend to anyone wanting a central hotel, staff and service excellent throughout our stay

“Great City Break!”

An excellent hotel! Staff extremely attentive! Would recommend the restaurant - food was superb, beautifully presented and very tasty. Would certainly use this hotel again.

Unter den Linden - Brandenberg Gate, alsogood restaurants, museums and the Berliner Dom, Deutsche Oper - superb and Potsdamer Platz - fascinating architecture! City bus tour a great way to get your bearings!

“Undecided”

For a five star hotel I expect more than I received. For instance the first room's heating wasn't working, so had to change rooms, the heating in that room wasn't working so had an oil filled radiator brought. The beds had two pillows on them and had to request more for the luxury of five star. The drapes didn't completely fit the window, nor were they blackouts so it was hard to sleep in the morning. The health club is lovely water abit cold, but nice to relax in. The bath freebees were very nice. The reception area is very grand with an enormous staircase. The rooms overlooking the garden are the quietest, the ones on the main road can be noisy if the window is open, and some do not have a bath as well as a shower. The twin beds are what they say, as compared to other hotel chain that have more of two double beds in the room. I gave feedback t the manager on leaving. I had stayed there three years previously and it appeared better then. I would have to think seriously about which hotel to book when I revisit Berlin, which is a lovely city to visit with lots of places to see. The hotel is in a good location for sight seeing, in a safe part of town and transport station underground etc is about 10 mins walk away.

Getting around

Trains and underground great service, good value and easy to use. Don't forget to validate your ticket before you get on the train in the little red ticket machines like posts. To save hassle might be best to get the three day travel ticket etc.

Potsdamer Platz for average shopping, down near the grand westin hotel for the richer shops. Railway station has great food shops, very clean and variety at reasonable prices.

“This is a 3 star hotel, location great.”

Not very impressed about the hotel since the coffee maker was not found in the room. But the hotel is clean, pillows were awful and the heavenly bed is not really that since it's just a regular bed. In terms of location, it's great and very safe. I will choose this hotel again but I will bring my own coffee maker to feel comfortable.

“Good service, great location”

A wonderful location in Berlin, with all facilities provided, including a great pool. Service was good and concierges excellent. Puzzled why no turn-down service. Apart from that, thumbs up and we will stay there any time we visit Berlin.

Where the Westin is. Avoid Checkpoint Charlie area at all costs. Run down and seedy.
