“Good, clean, spacious hotel”
Good location spacious quiet hotel, and superb breakfast.
“Good location”
Hotel situated in good area for eay access- to restaurants 5 minute stroll, underground station 3 minutes walk, Berlin cathedral and museum island 5 minute walk. Staff at hotel very fiendly and helpful, booked superior rooms which were spacious and very clean. Outside area may be a little off putting with major constrcution work opposite but having walked around at night no problems whatsoever and felt safe. Would recommend this hotel and area to travellers. Travelled from airport to Ostanbanhoff station and then taxi to hotel. Travel on bus train etc good value. All day ticket for up to 5 people for all transport services 15 euros or 15.50 for Zone C which is required for airport connenction. Visit to Reichstag highlight of trip but remember to pre book on-line well worth it.
“Novotel Mitte is a great place to stay.”
Lovely hotel with a really spacious room. Staff were particularly helpful. The club sandwich and bottle of German rose were perfect after arriving back late from an evening out.
“Good hotel for a Berlin break”
Went to this hotel in May 2010. Minor flight delay due to volcanic ash. I would recommend taking a taxi from the airport . it is less hassle than public transport. The hotel location is excellent for walking to many sights. Breakfast is very good. Plenty of typical german eating and drinking places nearby. Would use this hotel again if visiting Berlin.
“Good modern chain convenience”
Although in a wee bit of a desert, and a bit tricky to find (it's not really on the address street, but one running crossways to that), this Novotel was very good value. It's a short walk from the Museum Island (about 15 minutes at max), and not much more to Unter Den Linden. The hotel itself is what one would expect from a good quality chain - a bit anonymous, standard decor, but also very comfortable, clean and quiet. In fact the location helps with the quiet. Good service from the bar staff at 11:30 on a Friday night as well. Would definitely stay here again.
“fab hotel fab location fab price”
Great hotel at great price. very central - we walked to all the main sites. 2 mins walk from the Underground and 5 mins walk to the Nikolaivirtel with lots of restaurants at night time. Comfy rooms with robes and slippers, a sauna and a gym and a fabulous buffet breakfast. Helpful staff. I would go back!
“Nice hotel in a great location”
A very pleasant hotel within easy walking distance of the Spree, Berlin Dom, Nikolaiviertel and much more. Light, airy rooms, very pleasant and helpful service from all the staff, great breakfast (not included in our package, so rather pricey, but couldn't fault the quality). Possibly my only negative point (and it is only a minor one) is that there is no real outside seating area, and one would have been nice as Berlin was HOT! when we visited.
“Value for money”
The hotel is closed to the U-Bahn and the station on the line where all major attractions are also located. We walked to and from different places around the area and the neighbourhood is very safe. The hotel is not in a busy street so the area is very quiet which is why I chose this hotel. The hotel itself is pleasant and the staff are firendly. There is computer to use for free unfortunately, there are kids always on it. The room is very clean and with plenty of space. However, I found the bed quite uncomfortable.
“Modestly priced and convenient situation”
A modestly priced hotel which we found to be very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is expensive so we never used it but found it easy to buy outside. There is tea/coffee in the room. We found the bar staff very friendly when we went back for a nightcap. Convenient situation with underground station nearby but buy your day ticket from reception before setting out. The underground ticket machine doesn't work well and queues form. Hotel is just 2 stops from Alexanderplatz.. Potsdamer Platz is also on the same line. However we do tend to walk a lot and walked back from Brandenburg Gate quite easily. Nicholai Viertel is a beautifully restored old town and very convenient for evening restaurants after a long day on your feet.
“Ideal location”
Would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berlin. Hotel itself had everything you would look for from a 4 star hotel but it biggest advantage was its location. We were there during Iceland volcanic eruption and had to stay another 6 nights - but despite everything else we really felt at home and comfortable here. There was lots of room in the room too. Located right next to Spittelmarkt underground station this allows you easy access all over Berlin using U Bahn, S Bahn and Bus - all for c 6euros for a day ticket. Hotel is situated in a nice peaceful area too. There are also public swimming baths right next to hotel. On foot you can easily reach Unter den Linden with Reichstag etc, or Friedrichstrasse for Checkpoint Charlie or Alexanderplatz. Loads of restaurants nearby across river in Nikolaiviertel. There is also a supermarket on one corner of hotel building and a chemist too. Only negative point would be price of breakfast - 17 euros each so make sure it is included in your package.
