"Lovely property with fab facilities and polite staff. Great location with only a 15 min walk to attractions in Bath. Level of cleanliness was less than expected of a 5* hotel. Communal areas were clean but often shabby, needing some new paint but rooms weren’t as clean as we’d have liked. Was clear they had just had a quick clean but skirting boards, back of toilet and bathroom corners were very dusty and hand-wash holder had lots of old hand-wash congealed on to it. "We had a wonderful experience at the Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel during a short visit to town. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a couples massage during our stay and the spa in the hotel is top notch. The room was gorgeous with high ceilings and a nice separation of spaces. The nightly turndown service was unexpected and appreciated. We pretty much loved everything about this place!"

"This is a great hotel to stay in for a nice break in Bath. The location is perfect. When you leave the hotel door it’s a short walk in either direction to get you into the center of Bath. The staff are really polite and were helpful with suggestions on restaurants and things to do. Our room was superb. At the back of the hotel overlooking what I believe is part of the rugby ground. "It is a beautiful luxurious hotel with a superb spa. Rooms were nice and bedding very comfortable. Grey's restaurant food is average and very limited choice and overhyped but breakfast was excellent. The biggest surprise on checking out was that they charged 10% service charge on the whole bill including the room charge that was prepaid on Hotels.com. There was no warning and left a bitter taste. "A fantastic hotel. Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. Our bedroom (superior room) was exceptionally large as was the bathroom. King size bed really comfy. Dined in the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed an exquisite meal. "The bedrooms have good facilities which adds to comfort, ie comfortable bed, Roberts radio, iron and ironing board, cafetière for your coffee as well as choice of teas. Large bathroom with good shower which was powerful and hot. We had dinner at the hotel and even though the food was okay, the service was slow. The staff were very apologetic but there were large parties in for dining and there are not enough waiting staff to cope."

"Lovely pub with comfortable room. Friendly staff and nice beer. I was greeted with a warm welcome and escorted to my room. Tea/coffee making facilities were present and fresh milk available on request in the bar. I only had breakfast once but it was tasty and well presented. "
