(637 reviews) We were staying here because our bathroom is being renovated and will definitely stay again. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a brilliant shower that I did not have to faff around with adjusting, just turned on and it was the perfect temperature. The underfloor heating makes the room very warm although one can open the windows. In kinder weather, there are chairs outside each of the rooms to sit on and enjoy a drink or smoke, and the pub itself is a friendly and comfortable place just to sit down and have tea/coffee or a drink. It is not 24 hour service but there is a 24 hour M&S Simply food across the road (though be careful crossing if on foot). Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. Sunday. I prefer this smaller place (10 rooms) to a larger hotel, where I feel shut in and have to traverse corridors and stairs to get out. As Coate Water adjacent to the Sun, there is a lot of greenery and fresh air despite the busy road. (I was thrilled to hear a thrush at 6.30 a.m). Altogether it was a very cosy and comfortable experience. (196 reviews) We had a wonderful stay here with our son, both sets of grandparents, and our dog, and it was perfect for everyone. From the moment we arrived, the first impression was fantastic. The spa was lovely and a great place to relax, and the food was brilliant throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious, although it did take a little while to arrive. The hotel is very family-friendly, with a lovely kids’ room and outdoor space that our little one really enjoyed. It’s also amazing for dogs, which made travelling with our pet so easy and enjoyable. We stayed in the 4-bedroom Grand Cottage, which was fantastic. Having private parking and easy access to all the facilities made everything very convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and very accommodating, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it.
