Isle of Bute Romantic Holidays

Had a great 4 night stay at the Torrance Hotel. Very clean room, with kettle, coffee, tea, cookies. Room serviced every day if required. Delicious made to order cooked breakfast and continental buffet included with our stay. Well maintained rooms and beautiful restaurant and bar. Unfortunately on arriving back to the hotel on our last evening after being out the power was out in the hotel. Staff were amazing and assisted us in getting what we needed from our room and set us up in a taxi to go to their sister hotel, the Busby Hotel, in another town 5 miles down the road. We stayed the night there and had great service and similar breakfast the next morning. Got another taxi back to the Torrence hotel. Money was refunded for the taxis. All in all we had a wonderful stay with great service from amazing staff. Will definitely stay there again when back in East Kilbride.

Beautiful grounds and the building is stunning. Staff were friendly and the food was good. Our rooms were big with two en suite bathrooms, one with tub and one with shower. We didn’t use the swimming pool or golf course but they looked good. Down side: no lift/elevator to dining room or to our bedrooms and it would benefit from upgrades- no electric outlets near the bed head. We were disappointed, given the lack of elevators, that check-in staff didn’t offer to help with luggage.

Lovely spacious room with comfortable bed. Within walking distance of city centre. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Unfortunately there were a few things that took the shine off my stay. The bathroom chrome was smudged and water marked and there were hairs in the shower. I also ordered room service, a burger well done, which came very, very pink in the middle. For breakfast I ordered porridge with a side of honey, there was no honey on my breakfast tray. If a token gesture of something being taken off the bill for the pink burger I would have left a tip as the waiting staff and reception staff were very friendly and helpful, however as I was presented with a full bill despite my meal being wrong I unfortunately felt I could not leave a tip and when paying the prices charged for staying at Crossbasket the very least I'd expect was a properly cleaned bathroom.
