Lanzarote Pet-friendly Holidays

A Bit Underwhelmed We were disappointed with our stay at Secrets Lanzarote. We chose it for the reputation of the Secrets brand and had high expectations, but the experience did not feel as premium as anticipated. The distinction between standard and Preferred guests was particularly frustrating. The best pool and many premium facilities appeared to be reserved for Preferred guests, while numerous additional experiences and amenities came at an extra cost. This made us feel like secondary guests rather than valued customers. We also struggled to find sunbeds in the morning, found the towel system inconvenient, and rarely used the main pool because it was extremely cold despite being advertised as heated. Pool service was limited, with staff rarely checking whether we wanted drinks, and food was not permitted by the pool, meaning we had to leave whenever we wanted a snack. Housekeeping was the biggest disappointment. Toiletries and room amenities were often not replenished unless requested through the app, and some requests had to be repeated several times. This was not what we expected from a hotel of this standard. Overall, the hotel fell short of the premium experience we expected from the Secrets brand. Service, housekeeping and the treatment of standard guests all need improvement.

The staff can’t do enough for you, they accommodated my wife’s dairy intolerance allowing her to enjoy the dining experiences. The gym is of a really high standard - especially for a hotel gym. The amenities in the room are amazing, from flip flops to a beach bag. The room was always clean to a high standard. I wish the parasols around the pool area (we sat in the reserve area) were of a better standard as we had to keep annoying the lovely man by the pool to keep putting it up for us. The all inclusive package is outstanding. So many lovely places to sit and chill (and hide from the windy weather), we always felt we had enough space to relax and enjoy a drink. A huge shout out to Rahul. We look forward to coming back.

If you arrive late, I don’t think check-in is the normal standard you see in the day. Porters took guests to rooms and when I checked in it was extremely difficult to find. The same service should exist if arriving later.

Beautiful hotel. Lobby and Piano bar stunning. Pool area good and general facilities were very good. A little tired in places but didn’t detract from the general ambiance. The food however was immensely disappointing. We were adults only so had access to Blue Moon and the Bistro Bar. Blue Moon was lovely but the food at the buffet was cold and at times unappealing. The food served à la carte was cold and lacked flavour. The main buffet restaurant was bland and very busy as often the buffets in Ai hotels are. Salads were good and nice selection but hot food was boring and bland. The carbonara was inedible on two occasions. The snack bar was chicken nuggets and burgers. The only thing that was nice here were the nachos and guacamole. We couldnt get booked in to any of the other à la carts other than El Vulcan so can’t comment on them. El Vulcan was good but had no atmosphere which detracted from the food experience. It was a very large area with only 4 tables occupied We were there for 5 nights which was enough. I wouldn’t have wanted to stay much longer given the food quality. Animation team were great. Entertainment OK. Cava and wine good. Our company enjoyed the cocktails and coffees at Mikes Coffee.

Our second stay at Los Zocos (5-12 July) following a trip there in Feb of this year. It was much busier this time compared to February. The only downside was the race to get a parasol in the morning. One family was getting up at 5:30 to secure theirs and we ended up having to get up between 6:00-6:30 to find a decent spot. It was hot so we needed a parasol to stay by the main pool all day. The quiet pool is less busy though. That was the only negative. LOCATION Just amazing. A couple of minutes walk to the beach with plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. Costa Teguise is relatively flat so good for long walks. APARTMENTS We stayed in Block C this time and loved it there. Our balcony overlooked the quiet pool and was shaded in the afternoon with a lovely breeze. The beds are very comfortable, it's clean, quiet and perfect for us. FOOD Great choice with something for everyone. Proper bacon in the mornings is a bonus. Lots of chicken, meats, fish, pasta, chips, veg etc. Snack bar does lovely food - paella, pasta, burgers, hotdogs, chips... DRINKS Standard local booze, slush, tea/coffee. All pretty standard across AI. STAFF This is where Zocos excels - the staff are all AMAZING! I wish I had more space but they are all so friendly and helpful. Special mention to the lady in the restaurant who always found me a nice cool table under the AC and Alejandro in the Galleon bar - what a couple of legends! There are loads of activities throughout the day and evening with the team.

A great location in Playa Blanca. We were in a deluxe suite with the private pool, our own sun beds and umbrella. This little pool also included free beer and cocktails too which was a nice touch, especially as we only went half board. The staff are lovely and very friendly.
