(168 reviews) A wonderful hotel close to Bergamo, some 15/20 min from Milan Bergamo airport. It had everything our family required for a comfortable week stay: free car park, nice staff, large and well equipped rooms, reasonable breakfast and even a laundry room. This hotel is in a small village but there is a supermarket next door and all main sites like Milan, Verona and the lakes within easy reach by a car. We paid extra to use kitchenette which was well equipped and allowed us to cook simple stuff. Great experience and we would definitely recommend. Quiet with the exception of flight noise. This appears to be the closest hotel to the airport. Bus number 973 from arrivals will take you to the hotel which is just 2 stops away (0.9 miles). Just 3 minutes walk from the bus stop to the hotel reception. Similarly, 973 bus from the same stop will take you to the airport departures. Number 973 bus will also take you to the historic city centre. Seems to run every 30 minutes over the weekend. Pro tip - Do not use Uber for travel as they are at least 2 to 3 times more expensive than the taxis. If using Uber app, book a taxi through the Uber app at 1/2 to 1/3 the price (taxis just charge what's on the meter). (183 reviews) The hotel has a very interesting layout. It was buiilt in 1937 and is similar to the Gugenheim museum in NY, in a sense that the rooms are arranged around a spiral corridor that goes up from the first floor all the way to the 8th. Advantages: the breakfast was very good, a lot to choose from. The hotel is very close to ski lifts - about five minutes drive and the hotel provides a shuttle bus. It is also a 2 minute walk to the center of the little town of Sauze d'Oulx where shops, restaurants and pubs are. There is a ski/snowboard rental on hotel premises (in the basement) with efficient with an efficient employee (thanks Randy). There are also lockers to keep the skiing equipment. Disadvantages: The hotel is really overpriced in the winter. I'm not sure why they call themselves VIP, as the hotel and the rooms are pretty basic. Furthermore, the hotel does not have its own swimming pool, but rather the spa complex is in a separate building next door, a short walk across the parking lot. We got two vouchers for free entrance, but we were there for five days. The entrance to the pool and spa are around 18 euros per person per day. The hotel does not have landline telephones between the rooms, nor do rooms have any kettle to make tea. The two elevators constantly malfunctioned. To summarize - not a VIP hotel, probably something like 3 stars, but the stay was still very enjoyable due to the hotel's location, nice staff, great skiing and the general athmosphere. (47 reviews) I have stayed in many 5 star properties, but have not received the level of attentiveness nor service as we have experienced at the Mont Blanc Hotel Village. The staff are truly experts at performing their respective jobs. I am literally the pickiest person when it comes to customer service and not only could I not find fault with anything here, it all exceeded my very high expectations. I am truly impressed. The accommodations are lovely in their traditional vibe, but with all of the necessary amenities (modern bathroom features, etc.). The chef is obviously skilled and the menu is very northern Italy. We have not explored the little village of La Salle as we have driven to Courmayeur to skate and ski during the day. Courmayeur is lovely and I can’t say enough about the Courmayeur Sport Complex ice rink and coaches. It was amazing being able to travel to Europe and continue my training by working with Marika Poli as my “on the road” figure skating coach. We will certainly return and bring the kids next time!
