Cheap and cheerful

Posted 26-Nov-2016
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Bed a little uncomfortable as we rolled into the middle
Location: Garden centre is next door and Oswestry and Shrewsbury good for shopping.
Easy check in, pleasant staff, bed was a little uncomfortable.

Nice hotel with a noise problem at the back end.

A very nicely presented property, but unfortunately we had the room on the end which has a road right outside the window, which affected my sleep.

Lovely hotel - but no Gluten free at pub next door

Posted 03-Oct-2016 on Hotels
The hotel was really warm, clean and friendly. The bathroom is a little dated but very clean. The attached pub that served meals and breakfast, but the gluten free choice was non existent and the only main course on the menu was salmon. I asked for salmon and was told that that was no longer on the menu. I asked what I was supposed to eat and the waitress apologised but didn't know. At which point we walled out. The Garden Centre next door had a better gluten free choice but obviously wasn't somewhere that we could eat an evening meal. Not good!

Convenient stopover

Posted 29-Sep-2016 on Hotels
Stopover near Wrexham, this was a comfortable stay next to the excellent Lord Moreton pub. Bed a bit too soft for me.

Nice hotel

Posted 22-Sep-2016
Pros: It was a very clean hotel and the pub/restaurant was old world and very good.
Cons: The beds could have a better standard and extra hairdryers.
Location: fine
We arrived early and they were able to accommodate us. The room was very clean and the restaurant was very good. The problem we had was the bed. It seemed old and sagged in the middle. We kept rolling into the middle. So we did not have a peaceful sleep. In the morning I started to dry my hair and the hairdryer stopped. I went to the front desk and asked for another one. They couldn't find one. To be fair, the person did look all over for me. I would think a hotel that offers hairdryers would have some extra ones.

Convenient Hotel for our Needs

Posted 22-Sep-2016 on Hotels
We booked the Moreton Park hotel as we were staying overnight in the area property hunting. The rooms were adequate for our needs for the one night. However, our room backed onto the A5 main road and we hardly slept due to the noise of traffic through the night. When we told the receptionist upon leaving she agreed that those rooms are noisy due to the traffic and said if we stayed again to request a different room. I wonder if because of us booking with Hotels.com and not direct that all the rooms would have been on that side, and was it because they were cheaper as not booked direct with hotel? If we or anyone we know wanted to stay there then we would request a different room and I am sure it would be much less noisier.
