One of the prettiest views anywhere in England from the balcony overlooking the estuary. Rooms are well decorated, spacious and have free gin. What’s not to like?

The room was very comfortable, the staff were excellent. We loved the ambience and the food
There was nothing we disliked except the proximity of the village church which insisted on striking every quarter hour day and night. It was an unusually warm night in October so we had the window open so I would advise using earplugs if the window is open.

We chose this hotel as it was in the centre of lovely golf course far away from the hustle and bustle of a noisy seaside town.It was ideally situated enabling us to visit Datmouth,Torquay,Paington and many other places of interest.
It was then nice to return to the hotel to use the leisure facilities and then enjoy a nice evening meal.

Have just enjoyed a 3 night stay with a friend. Beautiful hotel in unique location in quiet South Sands beachy cove. Lots of ways to get to Salcombe town centre either walking (a bit hilly), hotel shuttle car or water ferry. Rooms have stunning decor and bathrooms are very well appointed. Service throughout the hotel is excellent and very friendly. Enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant. Good value & again great service throughout but with particular mention of lovely service...

The rooms were beautifully clean, comfortable and cosy. The staff were so so friendly, it was my first solo trip and they made me feel so comfortable and safe. From the welcome team, the cleaning staff and the restaurant staff I only ever felt looked after and cared for. I will definitely be staying again in the future.

The whole hotel is only around a year old and everything still seems like it's brand new. The breakfast was superb, the room was really nice and there's excellent on site parking in the two level underground carpark too.
Will definitely be going back - Thanks.

Really enjoyed our weekend away. The Charterhouse is within walking distance of the beach and the town. Perfect on a sunny day! Beautiful, well looked after grounds with outdoor seating and a swimming pool. Marion and Les are lovely and very helpful, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They have a vast knowledge of the area and lots of ideas for days out. Breakfast is great and so much choice, definitely sets you up for a busy day of sightseeing! Their homemade bread, jams and...

Lovely small boutique hotel near the quayside with friendly staff and nicely decorated.
Very busy with a coffee shop and restaurant on lower ground. Being one of the oldest buildings in the town it has low ceilings, steep stair cases, beams and wonky floors!
The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and our bed and pillows were very comfortable. Free WiFi, bottled water, tv, tea & coffee, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and USB plug points besides the bed are included.

Spotlessly clean room, nicely decorated and really great en-suite.
Evening food excellent with really friendly hotel team.
Only slight down side (for us) was Sunday breakfast didn't start until 8am. Fine for many but we (and another guess) had somewhere to be at 9am, meaning breakfast was very very rushed.
