Crown and Mitre Hotel

"Most rooms are accessed by narrow staircase. Would be very difficult for mobility challenged person. Location is isolated. Staff and food were excellent."

"The staff were friendly and approachable while remaining professional. We have a dog so were given a ground floor room with a door direct to the courtyard. Dogs are not allowed in the dining room. However, staff were happy to serve our breakfast in the bar area so our dog could stay with us, rather than be put in the car. Food and bar prices were easily comparable with outside pubs etc. Good sized, comfortable bed plus sofa and easy chair. Easy manageable heating. A 2 minute walk to the beach. Very windy during our stay but still pleasant. Plenty of parking. A very enjoyable 2-night stay."

"Fabulous hotel with good rooms. The breakfast is fabulous - amazing choice of breakfast items. We had two evening meals at the hotel and these were great and good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Large car park round the back of the hotel which even boasts some of the wall from the fort on Hadrian's wall. Also there is a section of the wall in the hotel reception. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit Carlisle."
The Golf Hotel

"All good and hotel met expectations. Hotel is perhaps a little tired and in need of some refurbishment but rooms clean, beds comfortable and good shower, ideal for golf trip accommodation and reasonably priced. Only thing to watch out for is my room was next to the kitchen extractor fan that comes on at 7am so don’t expect a lie in if you are in room 6"

"Very friendly and professional staff, room clean. The only fault if you do not have own transport it was impossible to get a taxi also this meant you had to eat at the services which can be expensive."

"Staff was excellent. Breakfast was good. The rooms are dated. We had the room with 3 single beds in it. Two were comfortable and one was too soft. No sheets to cover with only a comforter. No AC!!! Only a small fan.The room was kind of stuffy."

"A really great hotel within easy walking distance of the shops and eateries. Friendly staff, tastt breakfast, our room was comfortable and well-equipped with comolimentary G&T! We had a balcony over looking the gardens and we used the bijou space when we arrived, all rather lovely."
