"Our room was well set out and lovely and clean, however the desk with the kettle was directly under the fire alarm, and boiling the kettle set this off for our room. We then had to evacuate first thing on a morning, and then realised the rest of the alarms weren’t going off, only to go back to our room and have reception call us (a good 5 mins later) to ask if we were ok. When we explained, they said that it made sense that it was the kettle and this had happened before, and we could carry on as normal. Not being able to use a kettle without setting off an alarm is quite poor, and if the staff are aware of this as an issue, these should be moved or we should have been made aware upon arrival."
