I was looking for a one night stay close to Diss for the 2017 Organ Festival. I searched on proximity and price and Hazel Barn met my requirements. For a bed and breakfast Hazel Barn far exceeded my expectations. The owners are very welcoming and friendly and the breakfast provided was absolutely superb. Nice room with en-suite and access to a fridge in communal kitchen area serving the 3 guest suites. It is nice to have fresh milk for your early morning tea rather than the long life little pots...

Beautifully refurbished rooms, very friendly staff, and great food. Some noise from the bar/garden - as you would expect from an Inn - but very quiet after closing time, with a very comfy bed. Great value.

We had a lovely stay for one night at Grange Farm. The owners were extremely welcoming and we enjoyed our conversations. Room was big and comfortable. We were offered supper by our hosts which was delicious, with a super breakfast cooked for us in the morning. Lovely, safe location.

The staff were really friendly and approachable. The meal I had was one of the best I've had in a long while.
The room was really clean with a Nespresso coffee machine which for me was a really nice touch as I love my coffee.
The shower was lovely and hot.
I will definitely be booking there again and I can not recommend it enough.
Lovely bar with a nice atmosphere.
I was solo travelling and the staff were more than happy to chat while I enjoyed my drink at the bar.

One of those rare finds that you almost want to keep to yourself so you can always get a room.. :-) We booked only 3 hours before our 2 night stay so options were limited and we were a bit worried we'd be left with what no-one else wanted. It turned out fantastically though. The Motel is brand new, spacious, clean, warm, and the TV had all the usual smart apps so we could watch practically whatever we wanted. We had dinner and breakfast in the almost attached George and Dragon pub and although...

We loved our stay in the Abbey Hotel and apartments, the staff, breakfast & attention to detail were amazing. Very easy walk into the town centre with its unique shops, pubs & restaurants, also not forgetting the Cathedral & Abbey Gardens.
Bury St Edmunds is a must to visit.

We ariived late in the evening for a weekend break and were welcomed by Dave who showed us to our luxury bungalow. In the bungalow Denise had prepared us a grocery pack which we made full use of with arriving so late. My elderly mum was with us and Dave and Denise really did go above and beyond spoiling us. There were bikes which my son and I used to cycle to March along the canal. Cycling there is fab. We also went to the village of March and the people there were very friendly. We spent...

Charming, centuries old country pub with not a straight beam in the place. Our room was large, characterful, spotless and comfortable. Decent pub grub delivered with especially warm and friendly service.

The best area to stay in Thetford is the town centre, particularly around the A1066 and the River Little Ouse.
This central area offers the most convenience for visitors, with easy access to shops, eateries, and local attractions. The main streets, like King Street and Bridge Street, are home to many of Thetford's historic buildings and the town's museum. The River Little Ouse runs through the heart of the town, providing pleasant riverside walks.
Couples looking for a relaxing break will appreciate the town centre's blend of history and comfort. You'll find a selection of independent shops and pubs, and it's a good base for exploring the surrounding Norfolk countryside and the Brecks.
For those interested in history and local culture, staying near the Ancient House Museum or the remains of Thetford Priory provides direct access to these significant sites.
