A friendly, comfortable hotel. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and peaceful.

Cory, the manager of The Fox, is a lovely host. Super hard working, he is around to serve breakfast and still managing the bar late at night. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and warm. Parking is immediately outside the rooms and easily accessed. Bury St Edmund’s is a lovely town with excellent shopping and coffee shops. Strongly recommend staying at The Fox for visiting Bury St Edmunds.

We loved our stay in the Abbey Hotel and apartments, the staff, breakfast & attention to detail were amazing. Very easy walk into the town centre with its unique shops, pubs & restaurants, also not forgetting the Cathedral & Abbey Gardens. Bury St Edmunds is a must to visit.

A pleasant, comfortable and clean place to stay, but would have liked to see more healthy options, (e.g. salads) on the dinner menu. Gym modern and good size for a hotel.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting our son who had recently joined the armed forces. It was a very convenient location and a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and well equipped and the bar lounge was cosy and relaxing after a long journey. Breakfast the next morning was good and set us up for our busy day ahead. Hopefully we will be returning again soon.

I believe it had just reopened after being closed for a whilst for refurbishment. Having not seen the before i cannot comment on the works undertaken. However the place i visited was super, friendly staff (dont think they had been refurbished), great room and very comfy. I've stayed here once or twice a year for many years now for the simple I like it. The odd niggle maybe but who's perfect? Never a serious complaint. Staff always helpful. Food always good and freshly prepared. I could go on.

Stayed for one night to attend a wedding reception locally. Was greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist, who also ordered us a taxi to get us to the wedding reception. The room was very spacious and bed comfortable. Plenty of towels provided. Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. No complaints, would stay again.

Visiting Family in the area and found this to be the perfect base. Easy access to the A14 and Bury St Edmunds, but in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle.

Charming, centuries old country pub with not a straight beam in the place. Our room was large, characterful, spotless and comfortable. Decent pub grub delivered with especially warm and friendly service.

We battled the snow for a stay here and were so glad we did. The hotel is beautiful with all the wooden beams and real log fires and our bedroom was a really good size. Both dinner and breakfast were yummy and my husband even had a treatment in the spa which he enjoyed. My only criticism would be the lack of music. The staff were really friendly and approachable. The meal I had was one of the best I've had in a long while. The room was really clean with a Nespresso coffee machine which for me was a really nice touch as I love my coffee. The shower was lovely and hot. I tend to worry about the cleanliness of a B&B and thus avoid them. However, this one was priced at a really good rate and most other hotels close to the wedding I was attending were already booked. I got there on Saturday and I was blown away. Not only was the host (Mike) so welcoming and helpful but the place was beautiful and the rooms far exceeded my expectations.
