Absolutely lovely stay at The Royal oak. Beautifully decorated throughout, with a really warm and homely feel. Staff were welcoming, dinner and breakfast were first-class and my room was spotlessly clean with a great bathroom and comfy bed. Would definitely return, I stayed for work but it would be a lovely place for a weekend away.

Staff were very welcoming and polite. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Great pool, sauna, steam room and treatments. Will use this hotel again.

Was only at the hotel for about 9 hours, and 8 of it was asleep, but at 3am after waking up and requiring a fan in the room the receptionist brought one to my room upon request at 3am! Huge thank you to the staff for this extremely accommodating service.

We were looking for an overnight stop travelling back North from Southampton and came across here. There was a big extension being built to the front of the pub so parking was difficult but otherwise caused no inconvenience. We had 3 rooms and all were very comfortable and well equipped . What stood out about this place was the staff, all were genuinely lovely and friendly. Checked in and personally shown to our rooms. We ate at the pub and the food was quickly served and was simply delicious...

We had a friendly welcome from Jane and her staff. The room was comfortable and breakfast was excellent. The pub closed early on Sunday night, so we had to go elsewhere for food, but it meant a very peaceful night. Strongly recommended!

A little off the beaten track but this hotel is of exceptional quality and it a bargain for the price we paid. VERY quiet and comfortable. Superb breakfast too. We'll definitely return!

We recently returned and stayed in a comfy double room last weekend. Very well maintained hotel, room and facilities. The room was spotless. Great choice of indoor and outdoor seating and restaurant and bar services. We were satisfied with the gym. We didn’t use the sauna and steam rooms this time. Not the quietest of venues during event nights.

Its great to find a hotel you can stay for just one night over the weekend. I was looking for somewhere close to London (34 miles away), with great reviews, good food and accommodation and places to visit nearby. The Bel and Dragon had all of that. The room was tastefully furnished (with free sloe gin - added bonus!) and the hotel was cosy and characterful. We were attending a parents event at one of the colleges on Saturday morning, so decided to treat ourselves to a night at The Old Bank Hotel the night before to allow for dinner and a more leisurely start in the morning. The hotel has its own car park and is perfectly situated on the High Street. We used the hotel as a base to visit the Bombay Sapphire gin factory which was very close by. It was an emotional visit for me as i last saw the hotel as my boarding school in 1968 I also fount my initials carved on a wall I remember this even after 48 years The hotel was fantastic we enjoyed our stay for one night and had a lovely breakfast. From the moment we checked in the whole stay was second to none, normally this is a one or perhaps two night stay but we had about a week there. The staff were so helpful and very courteous on all levels, the room was clean and lovely bath towels provided.
