"We found this hotel in a Rick Steves travel guide for Switzerland. His description is accurate. Awesome location near the train station. The upper floor rooms do have a view of the lake. The front desk staff was pleasant and friendly. The rooms are a decent size. We had two family rooms. The decorating is not up to date and the appliances like the hair dryer are also dated (no big deal, every thing was functional). "The view of the lake was to die for. The room as well as the whole hotel was recently renovated and had all the amenities one needs. However the room can get quite hot so wear just a tshirt when you go to bed. Finally kindly notice that there is no reception operating after 11:00 pm, so make sure that you know how to collect your room keys from the safety boxes at the entrance after 11:00 pm."

"We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Murten with our family. We really appreciated the convenient location, close to the lake and the village. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The room is large and comfortable, although it could use some update in the furniture. Also tv was not working during our stay. The restaurant is good and has a large choice, but unfortunately it was closed both Sunday and Monday. All in all, we recommend this property and we thank the staff for welcoming us!"

"It must have some shady guests before ... there were signs to tell guests not to cook in the room, sign to tell guests about CHF 100 fine for letting the water leaked from under the shower door. BTW, the shower door is leaking if one uses its rain curtain shower head on top. The only way to avoid the water spilling on the door and leaking out of its bottom gap is to use the hand held. So it is an architectural design fault that the management tried to pin on the guests if they, God Forbid,...
