"We were greeted by Noah and he served us breakfast each morning and made our stay more pleasant with his cheerfulness. We slept over the Pub and surprisingly had a great nights sleep for all three nights! We were in walking distance of market square and city shopping! Parks close by and Cam river. Enjoyed our stay!"

Wander through Sudbury's medieval streets to discover half-timbered buildings and the impressive St. Peter's Church with its soaring tower. Explore Gainsborough's House museum to see works by the famous artist, then rent a rowing boat on the River Stour where local swans glide peacefully.
The Woolpack is simply the best Inn that I’ve stayed at. Gorgeous building (complete with ghost?). Staff that are genuinely friendly, a pub packed with locals that must be the friendliest in the Country. I was lucky to be there for Thursday night karaoke… honestly I’ve arranged my diary to be there on Thursdays. If you like an authentic pub, great food, superbly comfortable accommodation and a strong community spirit.. (and maybe a ghostly nun).. then this is the best place to stay!

Cory, the manager of The Fox, is a lovely host. Super hard working, he is around to serve breakfast and still managing the bar late at night. Nothing is too much trouble.
The rooms are spacious and warm. Parking is immediately outside the rooms and easily accessed.
Bury St Edmund’s is a lovely town with excellent shopping and coffee shops. Strongly recommend staying at The Fox for visiting Bury St Edmunds.

I believe it had just reopened after being closed for a whilst for refurbishment. Having not seen the before i cannot comment on the works undertaken. However the place i visited was super, friendly staff (dont think they had been refurbished), great room and very comfy. The rooms are in the adjoining property, so isolated for the jovial atmosphere in the restaurant. And it was jovial and busy (on a Wednesday evening) and again the staff were brill. The staff could not have done more, the food was amazing, the whole place was spotlessly clean, fridge in the room etc.
The shower was the only very minor thing that let it down. We prefer a hand held one to a rose from the top… personal choice.
We will certainly revisit when in the area. Great value… the pub/restaurant was LOVELY… a lot of thought has obviously gone into making it such a comfortable place to be. All the tables were spaced out well, with comfortable chairs…. The staffing levels...

The staff were really friendly and approachable. The meal I had was one of the best I've had in a long while.
The room was really clean with a Nespresso coffee machine which for me was a really nice touch as I love my coffee.
The shower was lovely and hot.
I will definitely be booking there again and I can not recommend it enough.
Lovely bar with a nice atmosphere.
I was solo travelling and the staff were more than happy to chat while I enjoyed my drink at the bar.

Lovely pub with rooms. Staff were very helpful and friendly and our room was cosy and quiet. We had breakfast and dinner, both of which were excellent. Parking was no problem and the pub provided a good base for exploring Cambridge and the Fens.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting our son who had recently joined the armed forces. It was a very convenient location and a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean and well equipped and the bar lounge was cosy and relaxing after a long journey. Breakfast the next morning was good and set us up for our busy day ahead. Hopefully we will be returning again soon.

Charming, centuries old country pub with not a straight beam in the place. Our room was large, characterful, spotless and comfortable. Decent pub grub delivered with especially warm and friendly service.
