Great place to stay. We were going to a concert In Brighton and this was an ideal place to stay. Staff were helpful about local area, amenities and getting to and from Brighton. Room is simple but perfect for what we needed. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious. Plenty of choice, happy to accommodate special dietary requirements. Highly recommend.

The hotel is great. Very clean and has an elevated contemporary feel for the price. Check in was phenomenal with a special shout out to Sam, who was fantastic.
We ate in the restaurant and although the food was excellent and the staff really lovely, it was clear that they were very short staffed, as it took ages to order, I waited 30 minutes for my drink, and the food took a very long time to arrive. We ate a starter and main and, were seated for over 2 hours. I asked for the bill as soon as...

I chose to stay here for two nights while I was visiting Glyndebourne. Carol and Ceri were so friendly and welcoming. They took such good care of me and made sure that I wanted for nothing. The room I was given was large and extremely comfortable with a private bathroom that overlooked the beautiful
garden. Breakfast was always delicious and served in the conservatory. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Stayed one night only ideal short bus ride to the music venue, could not fault the place. Bus stops right outside the hotel, a no brainier if you want to visit Brighton too!

We had a wonderful welcome back from Mihal, when we arrived early and left our luggage. And then at check-in, we were greeted by the amazing Simona and her colleague, Fiona, who were so friendly and helpful - a pleasure to meet and chat to. Our room was wonderful - huge and comfortable bed, espresso machine, very clean and we were very happy to have a fridge, too. Only area for improvement would be to have had drinks and snacks in the fridge that are suitable for vegans, but we weren’t expecting...

We arrived and we're greater by the most wonderful Vicky, with whom we hit it off straight away as she up graded us to a suite. It's little things like this which go along way, as the suite was the most opulent, most spacious room I have ever stayed in, it's sweeping viwes to date a lawn Ed tree-lined avenue showing up the splendour of the settings in which this stunning period hotels lies. We were directed to the bar and sampled their food menu. We sat outside opposite the orangery restaurant....

Great hotel, lovely rooms and lounge areas. Food in the restaurant was excellent: good choice at a reasonable price. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

The best area to stay in Streat is the village centre, particularly around Streat Lane, for its convenience and access to local amenities.
This central part of Streat offers a traditional village experience. Streat Lane is the main thoroughfare, lined with charming cottages and leading to the historic Streat Church, a prominent local landmark. The area is quite compact, making it easy to stroll around and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the village centre particularly appealing. The quiet lanes and proximity to scenic walking paths, like those leading towards the South Downs National Park, provide an ideal setting for a relaxing break.
When is the best time to go to Streat?
The best time to visit Streat is during the late spring to early autumn months, from May to September, when the weather is generally mild and pleasant.
These months offer the warmest temperatures and the most sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find that many local attractions and gardens are in full bloom during this period, enhancing the beauty of the area. It's also a good time for walking and cycling without the chill of winter.
For those who prefer a quieter visit and don't mind cooler temperatures, April and October can also be lovely. The crowds are typically smaller, and you might catch the spring blossoms or the rich colours of autumn foliage, offering a different but equally appealing experience.
