"This property is in a desperate need of a renovation. The carpeting throughout the building is worn beyond saving, heavily soiled, and looks like 50 years old. The bedding is ok but wonder about it and possible cleaniness in light of the lack of care of the carpeting. The outside entrance of the building is disgusting, bird poo on the overhead entrance, broken tiles, not a very nice approach. Windows needed cleaning and window landing had debris on it. "We had an excellent night at the sandman. The hotel is very big the extinct feels quite grand. There was plenty of reception staff to help which made for a quick check in. The rooms were really nice. Clean with high cleanings it was good to have a bath and a shower. The bar was very nice as well although £7.50 a pint was a bit on the expensive side but it had a good atmosphere and was a nice place to be. One of the best things about the hotel is its location it is just a short walk from the bars and restaurants of the city centre. Having its own parking is also a huge bonus. Aberdeen itself is a great city it is very clean and there is lots to do. We had a great night out for dinner and then hitting the pubs most of which had good atmosphere and live music. Definitely check out the beech as well well it is a lovely area. We also went to the maritime museum which is free and is really interesting. The only things that could have been better. If the parking arrangements could have been communicated first as it was a bit stressful having to stop just outside the hotel door. The hotel is a bit of a labyrinth it is easy to get lost in it does add to the character but maybe more signs or a map. I’m probably being pedantic here. Excellent hotel though I would definitely stay here Again."
