"Cheap and handy for Union Sqr and train station."
A quirky, Italian-owned hotel with downstairs restaurant. Didn't eat there, but cooked breakfast was nice and non-greasy. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms simple and basic, but comfortable. No lift, so not suitable for the elderly or infirm.
We only went there for the weekend. everything was within walking distance from the hotel. We walked to union street and Aberdeen ballroom. Walked down the beach though it was quite chilly. I would recommend to visit old Aberdeen as well if you like historic buildings. we actually walked there and was an awesome experience.

The Hilton Garden Inn Aberdeen Centre is about a five minute walk from Union Street, the main downtown street in Aberdeen. Parking a rental car is a bit of a challenge because the hotel has a limited number of spaces but there is overflow at a nearby shopping centre garage. However, hotel staff need to better inform guests how to navigate the overflow lot. We wasted about an hour getting out of that lot because of a mix up about payment on exit that could easily have been avoided with clear instructions.
I have stayed in hotels all over Scotland and I have to say, this is my most favourite hotel in Scotland. It reminds me of The Point Hotel in Edinburgh until Hilton destroyed its character. Friendly staff, flexible policies to accommodate need and a very individualistic character in design and comfort. Also bang in the middle of Aberdeen.

Bordered by 100 miles (160 km) of coastline on one side and the Cairngorms on the other, Aberdeen offers churches, distilleries, castles, and beaches. Villages spot the countryside boasting culture, dining, and architecture untouched by urban expansion. In more developed areas, visitors can sample local cuisine and participate in the nightlife, or visit art galleries and theme parks.
