Find hotels in Somerset, TX from £51

The best areas to stay in Somerset, Texas, are within the city of San Antonio, particularly the Downtown Riverwalk area or the Stone Oak neighbourhood, as Somerset itself is a small town with limited accommodation options.

For travellers seeking a classic San Antonio experience with easy access to major attractions, the Downtown Riverwalk area is ideal. This area is built around the San Antonio River Walk, a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, lined with restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. Key landmarks like The Alamo, the Tower of the Americas, and the historic Market Square are all within walking distance or a short river taxi ride.

Couples often enjoy the Downtown Riverwalk area for its romantic setting, with scenic boat tours, riverside dining, and live music. It's a convenient base for exploring San Antonio's history and culture, offering a variety of hotels ranging from historic boutique properties to well-known luxury brands.

Families looking for a comfortable and convenient stay with modern amenities might prefer the Stone Oak neighbourhood in North San Antonio. This area is more residential and features newer developments, including hotels with family-friendly facilities like outdoor pools and spacious suites. It's well-connected to major roads, making it easy to access attractions like Six Flags Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld San Antonio, which are a short drive away.

The best time to visit Somerset is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with mild temperatures and less humidity, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty and local attractions without the intense heat of summer. Spring brings wildflowers and a refreshing atmosphere, while autumn provides comfortable conditions for outdoor activities and local events.

Families will particularly enjoy these seasons. The cooler temperatures are great for visiting nearby parks or taking part in community festivals without worrying about little ones overheating. Many local farms and attractions also offer seasonal activities that are well-suited for families during these times.

Couples looking for a relaxing break will also find spring and autumn appealing.
