Good sized room with large hot spring tub, beautiful flowers right outside hotels. I saw over 3 couples over just 2 days coming to take wedding shots because of the nice flowers. It is close to the national park and the mountain. If you prefer countryside it is a very good option. As we hired a car it was convenient to go downtown too with just about 20 minutes drive.
The staff is very friendly and capable. This hotel is located in TIanMu not i n downtown Taipei. It is convenient to the American and Japanese Schools. There are at least three large department stores nearby as well as several markets. Restaurant selection is good and there are several grocery stores available. It is close to a bus stop and a short taxi ride to the MRT stop and the ShiLin night market. Do not expect to be near the major tourist sights (101, CKS or SYS Memorial, etc) but it is a very good hotel if you need to stay in TianMu.
This is a uniquely located and reasonably priced place to stay next to the Shilin Night Market area and across Zhongzheng Road from the Shilin MRT station. You can enjoy all the street food and shopping a few minutes walk from your door, and use the MRT to connect with the airport or go almost anywhere in Taipei. A bus also runs from the Shilin station to the National Palace Museum, one of the world's greatest collections of Chinese art. And the rooms are clean, if small, with modern fixtures and not too much noise though the trains do rumble by. But there are some challenges for those who don't speak Chinese (and even for those who do). The rooms are above shops and the access is a small recessed black door easily overlooked though the number is posted. There is a phone by the door, but it was never answered, even during the listed check in times. The only way we were able to contact someone (apparently the offsite owner) was by calling the phone number on the Internet listing. They called the cleaning lady who was working inside and came downstairs to let us in. There is no hotel desk, just rooms (with nice private bathrooms and air conditioning), hallways, and stairs. The cleaning lady handles the registration, room key cards and door and WiFi codes (very nice but limited English). The outer door works by using the card to unlock a sliding cover on a keypad and entering the code. We had to try a couple keys cards to get ones that worked reliably.
My friends and I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights. The location is a bit difficult to find for the first visit but it is actually very near to the MRT station and Shilin night market. The staff is friendly. The room is clean and tidy. The bed is comfortable. The fridge is very nice for putting the fruits and dessert we bought from the night market nearby. It is always safe to go back hotel in late or mid night.
Location is one of the best in Taipei. You can shop, eat and play at the night market. And with 1 min walk from the night market, you can rest in your hotel for further shopping and food. Most hotel staffs are nice and helpful except few who are not willing to answer your enquiries. Room is big and even bathroom is big enough. Breakfast is complimentary and has various choices but of course, it is Taiwan, why wasting your time to have breakfast at hotel? Try those food hawkers on the street near hotel.
They is no one will open door for you at this hotel. You need to contact with a phone and wait for someone to show up to give you the key. Room is clean and small. Sometime if you are not lucky, you will have smoker guess at the next door. Some room are horrible small and no window. But very connivence, close shi-Li night market and MTR.
This residential district of Taipei is home to embassies and a large Western expatriate community, especially in the Tianmu area. See the treasure of Chinese emperors at the leviathan National Palace Museum or stroll the quiet ponds and pavilions of the Chinese gardens in Shuangxi Park. Visitors can also dine and shop late among countless stalls at Shilin Night Market, Taipei's most famous market.
