Breakfast not the widest choices but ok for us.
Room lovely, clean, looked recently decorated. Nice bedding.
Nice ensuite bathroom nicely tiled, clean and new looking not the largest but it was a smaller room
Coffee, tea, biscuits.
Nice and warm and comfy bed."

"Lovely little spot on the outskirts of Ambleside but easily walkable to downtown. Great cozy room and absolutely phenomenal hot breakfast. Hosts were responsive, helpful, and friendly. Can't recommend this enough for anyone passing through."

"Excellent stay at the Windermere suite. The room was spotless and really nice. Ray & Wong were excellent hosts and helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent and delivered to your room and even accommodating for my wife who is gluten intolerant. Loads of parking on site and really close to the centre and Bowness."

Beautiful hotel in beautiful location. The attention to detail was fantastic far more than expected. The team at the Hideaway go above and beyond to make sure your stay is memorable. We had a wonderful weekend.

This is a great B&B and I thoroughly recommend it. It’s a central location and the parking permit is an added bonus. It makes a great base for exploring Ambleside or the wider Lake District.

Stayed over Easter weekend. Arrived Friday night and was greeted by one of the owners, Bonnie.
We have a double room, well sized with lots of storage. Bed was soft and good for a few nights with been uncomfortable. Ensuite was good as well and the showers hot. All rooms look to come with a TV (limited to ITV and C4 channels only) and welcome book with the WiFi information (good for streaming)
Breakfast has to be preordered by 7pm he day before, good range of hot food on selection...

A lovely peaceful property with easy access to Ambleside and walks over to Rydal. A brilliant breakfast and the hotel itself was so clean. We would love to return soon

I rarely write reviews about holiday stays but had to do so for our three night stay at Grange Manor. The room was fabulous-luxurious,spotless and so comfortable and the extra finishing touches made it a home from home. Breakfast served every morning in the room was a delight. No noisy dining room nor rush to have table cleared away. All was at our pace which was what we wanted. A peaceful haven in a beautiful setting with the most friendly and helpful staff made this break first class. We...

We stayed one night at the Victorian house as we had planned a last minute visit to the lakes due to particularly good weather forecast for this time of year.
The staff were very welcoming; the room was as described ‘cosy’ and furnished beautifully. The breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of choice.
We would definitely look to stay again, especially as it was such good value for money and right in the centre of the village.

Our visit to Homestead was outstanding in every way. From arrival to departure, we could not have had better service and attention. The house is unique and full of history and has been loving restored to the highest of standards.
Could not recommend it more!!

The weather was terrible but Matthew and Lucy more than made up for the lack of sunshine with their friendliness. Elder Grove is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in and would highly recommend it to others. They provided a hearty breakfast and were more than happy to cater for everyone’s likes and dislikes. Many thanks! Very happy!

We stayed in this lovely guest house for two nights as we were attending a family funeral. We arrived at about 3pm on the first day and were greeted by a lovely lady who explained where everything was and showed us to our room. We had a king room which was absolutely huge, with a massive, very comfortable bed, a large and comfy sofa, a large bathroom with an excellent shower and a really big TV on a rotating wall bracket (to make it watchable from anywhere in the room). Prices for B&Bs in Selside often vary, but you can find a great deal from £58 with Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as location and the time of year. It usually costs more to stay at Selside B&Bs over the weekend too. Travelers can find the best deals by being flexible with their dates, and by using our filters to sort prices from low to high.
When is the best time to book a Bed & Breakfast in Selside?
The best time to book a B&B in Selside is during the late spring and early summer months, particularly from April to June. This period invites adventure enthusiasts to explore the stunning landscapes of the Lake District, with its picturesque trails and tranquil lakes, offering ample opportunities for hiking, cycling, and outdoor exploration.
In April, the weather begins to warm up, with temperatures usually ranging from 8 to 15 degrees Celsius. This makes it an ideal time for sightseeing and immersing yourself in the breathtaking scenery, as the flowers start to bloom and the countryside comes alive with vibrant colours. The outdoor activities are plentiful, with nearby paths and trails suitable for both leisurely strolls and more challenging hikes.
If you're considering a more budget-friendly option, visiting Selside in November can be quite rewarding. During this quieter month, the crowds thin out, allowing for a more peaceful experience while still enjoying the beauty of the Lake District. The crisp autumn air and stunning landscapes make for superb walking conditions, and you can enjoy the serene atmosphere without the hustle and bustle of peak tourist season.
What is the difference between a Selside Bed & Breakfast and a hotel?
Every Selside B&B has its own unique feel. Whether it’s a cozy reading space or a sunlit breakfast nook to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, the quaint details are what make bed and breakfasts a home away from home. Travelers can look forward to personal touches, thoughtful amenities and of course a scrumptious breakfast at Selside B&Bs.
