"From the outside the Lakeland doesn’t look very inviting, net curtains looking drab and the white building aging. The staff were lovely and very helpful, got into the room and every step I took, there was some almighty creaking from the floor boards. Had a decent night sleep though! Breakfast was a little disappointing l, there was mouldy bread left out. I ordered a fry up which looked amazing when it came out, the only issue was the size, it would’ve been perfect for a child not for a 6 foot bloke"

"Breakfast buffet was good with decent selections, bed comfortable. Room small and a bit noisy with thin walls. Bathroom dated, shower cubicle very small and a bit grubby. Hotel grounds were really nice and the staff were very friendly"

"Hands down, my favourite hotel that I've stayed at. The staff are the best, the rooms are clean and welcoming, the breakfasts are superb, the bar has a nice cosy and relaxed vibe and it's a good location if you're planning to hike around the Lakes. I've stayed here 7 times in the last 12 months and i keep going back. I never want to go anywhere else."
