"We loved our stay at mallard Lodge and would definitely recommend. The weather was awful but expected in January but it didn't stop the kids fun. Lots of places to see. Great walks. Was wonderful to return to a warm, cosy lodge and a relaxing dip in the hot tub. Not fantastic TV reception or WiFi but we were there to escape all that. Anything we needed help with, selina was only a call away. We are looking forward to visiting again. X"

"We all had the most wonderful New Year stay at Curlew Lodge, it was spotless with some lovely personal touches such as fresh bread, eggs, butter & a chocolate cake that was delicious! The garden & views were lovely. The weather was terrible for most of our stay so didn’t manage to explore as much as we’d have have liked. The local village was a 25 min walk, we enjoyed a few visits to the Kings Head which was lovely with good food & atmosphere. We look forward to going back again. The only...

"Basic hotel very well located. The ground floor rooms are very dated. Have stayed before and upper level rooms are far superior. Will return but won’t take a lower floor room."

"The room was clean, but in need of some TLC. The lights did work, when the receptionist was told she came fiddled with the light bulbs, eventually they came back on. Once turned off they would not come back on. Very much felt that was an issue the hotel knew about, but had not fixed. The staff at breakfast were not welcoming. When the breakfast came the bacon and black pudding were not fully cooked. The sausage was poor quality and very peppery. Rather disappointing. Will not be staying again."
