Find a Hotel in Seaside, Monterey

A hub for adventure seekers, the city of Seaside overlooks Monterey Bay on California's Central Coast. Seaside makes a good Monterey base, and if you’re looking for budget accommodation it offers a range of affordable inns and motels.

Explore Fort Ord National Monument from a Seaside Hotel

Seaside is home to the Fort Ord National Monument, a popular recreation area with 86 miles of hiking, biking and horse-riding trails that run through rolling green hills and woodland. Bring your binoculars to see coyotes, snakes, lizards and deer, and if you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a mountain lion or golden eagle. The park's beach provides a home for seals, sea lions, sea and shore birds.

Also in Seaside is the 36-hole Bayonet and Black Horse golf course, previously only used by the army and now open to the public. The 36-hole course is a challenging one that offers sweeping views of the Pacific.

Get Active on Seaside Beach

Part of Monterey State Beach, Seaside Beach is a great spot for body surfing, paragliders, boogie boarding, kite flying and picnicking. It's easy to access too as beach-goers can take advantage of free parking. Hop on your bike and head south to downtown Monterey and Pebble Beach on the picturesque Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail that runs parallel to the coast behind the beach.
