Rustico holiday home Antico

Integrated into the picturesque and largely car-free mountain village of San Martino above Rezzonico is the quaint and tastefully restored natural stone house Rustico Antico with fantastic lake and mountain views and a beautiful open garden about 500 metres above Lake Como. The rustico is surrounded by simple village houses.

The garden has two levels:
At the entrance to the house, the covered seating area at the holiday home has a play and relaxation area. The access path at the rustico connects with neighbouring houses and divides the garden. Sheltered from the wind and covered, your terrace with dining table offers a view of Lake Como and the surrounding green idyll.
Down the natural stone steps, there is another relaxation area with a sofa and sun loungers with a large parasol.

In the Locanda, a village restaurant on the small piazza, you can meet for an aperitif or enjoy your dinner with a view of the sea of lights over Lake Como.

The rustico has antique terracotta tiles on the first floor and in the bathroom, as well as elaborately renovated wooden floorboards in the bedrooms in the attic area with open roof beams. The furnishings are a mixture of modern comfort and antique elements. Exposed stone walls alternate with plastered walls in warm Mediterranean colours. The history of the house is lovingly combined with the needs of the discerning individualist.

The holiday home is situated on a slope with access via a stone staircase from the garden to the first floor:
The outside staircase leads directly into the farmhouse kitchen, which has been carefully renovated and fitted with modern equipment, as well as an eat-in kitchen with a windowed fireplace and large dining table. A passageway leads into the living room next door, with wood-burning stove, sofa area with a double sofa bed for two people and a window overlooking Lake Como.

A wooden staircase leads to the attic with open beams:

1 twin bedroom with lake view is open to the stairs - the beds can be separated.
Bathroom with bathtub/shower screen, washbasin, WC and bidet.

On the ground floor/souterrain there is a rustic wine cellar with a large selection of wines on request with a cosy seating area as well as a laundry room with storage space for bikes and sports equipment.

San Martino is a paradise for individualists, those seeking peace and quiet, hiking enthusiasts and connoisseurs. Secluded yet united in the village community, San Martino is a prime example of carefully preserved mountain village culture. Enjoy the idyllic setting or discover the whole of Lake Como, nearby Lake Lugano, the Intelvital or even Lake Maggiore from here by car and excursion boat.

The holiday home is only partially suitable for children and guests with limited mobility - open, steep stairs in the rustico, as well as the paths in the neighbourhood, require increased caution.
Even in winter, this holiday home - heated with wood - is an insider tip for Italy lovers. The landlords Sig. Carlo and his wife Giulia are constantly improving their holiday home with a passion for authentic details.

On site you will find a fascinating selection of inexpensive and exquisite red and white wines - on request. Carlo's passion.

You park at the entrance to the village approx. 350 m from your holiday home. A handcart is available for transporting your luggage. You can reach your holiday home via a gently sloping village path. We recommend sturdy footwear.

There are several small and mostly gently sloping stretches of beach along the lake promenade. An approx. 1.5 km long footpath leads from San Martino to the lake.

Ferienhaus war doch sehr abgelegen. Keine Möglichkeiten für einen kleinen Einkauf. Vom See 15 Minuten bergauf fahren hat auch nicht wirklich viel Spaß gemacht. Parkplätze zu finden, wirklich katastrophal!

Schönes, authentisches Haus mit wunderbarem Seeblick

Wir haben uns in diesem gemütlichen, besonderen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt und hatten 10 sehr entspannte Tage. Der Seeblick ist traumhaft und dank des geschützten Sitzplatzes kann man ihn bei jedem Wetter genießen. In der Küche gibt es einen wunderbaren Ofen, der für gemütliche Stimmung sorgt. Die Nachbarschaft ist sehr nett und unser Hund hat sich auch sehr wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank an Carlo für den schönen Empfang! 💕
