Hotel 52 - Stanley

"The hotel was clean and modern. The breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was good although it wasn't available on the Monday. The toilet seat in my room wouldn't stay up. The TV remote didn't work. With the help of a friend we worked out how to switch the power on to the TV (behind the screen) and we were able to control it using the buttons underneath the bottom right of the TV. We worked out how to switch on the power to the shower by using the pull chord. I discovered that my double bed was two single beds pushed together. I did sleep reasonably well. Overall I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was in a convenient location for the town centre and for public transport to the Beamish Museum and the Tanfield Railway. The staff member I spoke to was friendly."

"I travelled with my wife for a 3 day trip, right from check-in the staff were friendly and helpful it had a homely feel and made it extremely comfortable, the meals were first class your chef is in a class of his own,the service was brilliant all of our stay many thanks to them all,when we are back in the area we will staying again and will recommend it to anyone without hesitation"

"Really nice place to stay, the only thing it lacks is a seating area inside, there is a small bar area but this soon fills especially when they are hosting weddings"

"The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were brilliant and the food was plentiful the only gripe I have is that some of the locals were very loud and intimidating which spoilt what should have been a pleasant evening listening to the young lad singing and playing his guitar"

"We had a fantastic stay! Our “standard double” room was better than expected, comfortable bed, spacious, great bath and good water pressure in shower. The choice and quality of food both at breakfast and dinner was excellent, well priced and very tasty. Perhaps the stand out feature of the Beaumont is the staff, without exception..their friendliness and attention leant to a welcoming and relaxed stay."
