"There was lots of parking available. Check in was easy and the receptionist was very helpful in pointing out where our room could be found and where the spa could be accessed near our room. Having three single beds in one room is a really good idea for three adults to share - I went with my two daughters and none of us wanted to share a double bed so three singles in a room was exactly what we needed. The pool area was nice but some of the chairs were broken and the ceiling could do with painting as it was flaking of. The restaurant was lovely and so was the food. Check out at 11 instead of 10 like most places was a real bonus so we could have a lie in following the wedding we attended."

"We were looking for a peaceful location for a much needed break, this property was unique, extremely comfortable and the surroundings were beautiful. The host was lovely and so friendly, made us feel very welcome and kindly asked us to help ourselves to some of the lovely apples from the orchard. The local pub, the Boat Inn was so good we ate there both nights we stayed, would highly recommend and would definitely return "

"Helpful & courteous staff made a big impression. Excellent Supper even on is Sunday night-Grimsby Haddock superb! No music -relaxing and peaceful dining room . Outstanding breakfast -great choice & fresh cooked -lovely hostess made the experience one to repeat ! Car parking is plentiful and very convenient straight outside our room ( actually perfect if one had any mobility issues or required safe parking for valuable stock in a van )."

"From the moment that we stepped inside, we were all really impressed by the house: it's compact, but therecwas plenty of space for 3 adults (me and 2 grown up kids). The beds were very comfortable and the twin room opens into the conservatory with a view of the garden which makes it feel very light and spacious. There was everything that we needed in the kitchen and a lovely surprise in the fridge! The location is great: there are lovely walks around the village and into the woods and a brilliant little village shop around the corner. It's only about 15 minutes drive to Sherwood, close to Clumber park and Creswell Crags. The only disappointment was that we had only booked it for 2 nights. I would definitely like to stay here again"

"I had a lovely stay at the Best Western Plus West Retford Hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the historic building adds a lot of charm. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent—fresh and well-prepared. Only downside was the breakfast, which felt a bit basic compared to the rest of the experience. Overall, a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Would definitely return!"
