Fabulous property
Puffin cottage was beautiful..clean and tidy..perfect location just 3 minutes walk from beach which is lovely..ideal base for touring cornwall..We were a family of 6, 4 adults 2 children it met all our needs..large family bathroom..beds comfy.. will definitely rebook..parking for 2 cars out the back of the property.

Portrearth Holiday Cottage
Lovely cottage very handily located just a couple of minutes walk to the beach and other local facilities. Comfortable accommodation with a nice little outside patio area which is a real sun-trap.

WONDERFUL STAY!
Puffin Cottage is presented to a very high standard in all aspects. The decor and furniture are excellent and there is a very well-equipped and spacious kitchen including a dining area. The lounge has a Smart T.V. - as do the double bedrooms - and there is plenty of comfortable seating. The bathroom is very modern with a showerbath - make sure you read the instructions in the property manual for getting hot water and operating the taps - . Outside, the patio area at the back of the house is a great place to catch the sun during the morning and afternoon, and in the evening the front garden is an equally good place to sit and watch the world go by. The garage provided a very useful place to store beach equipment and body boards. Puffin Cottage is less than 2 minutes walk to the beach, which was fantastic. Within 5 minutes you can be on the coastal footpaths along the headlands and cliffs that are on either side of Portreath. The bakery, shop and Chinese Takeaway are a 2-3 minute walk, and there is a Tesco Superstore a 10-minute drive away. There are several pleasant pubs in the village. Tamsin was a very attentive and helpful host before and during our visit. Portreath is a lovely, friendly place and the glorious Cornish weather was the icing on the cake for us. We had a wonderful stay in the perfect Puffin Cottage!

A great beachside base!
What a wonderful holiday at Puffin Cottage. The location is perfect for exploring near and far. Portreath beach is right on the doorstep and great for swimming, body boarding, and surfing. The is also good access to the south west coastal path for spectacular local walks. The village caters for all your needs with a small shop, fantastic bakery, and a number of great places to eat. Being just 10 minutes from the A30 means it is easy to explore most other parts of Cornwall by car too. The house itself is lovely; very modern and clean with all the home comforts you could want. Tamsin and Mark are great hosts, who promptly respond if you have any problems. The pasties and wine on arrival were a thoughtful touch too. Just the holiday we needed!

Great accommodation, has everything you need to make your stay comfortable The location for the beach was perfect just 2 minutes which is great for those who like surfing/bodyboarding/ swimming or just walking on the beach. If you want to be close to the beach then this property is perfect. A short stroll and you're there. The property was meticulously clean and well kitted out and any problems we had the hosts were quick to respond and resolve for us.

Puffin Cottage is a clean, well presented family place to spend your holiday break. The well equipped kitchen has everything you need for a self catering holiday. Great Location close to the beach
Just returned from a great stay at Puffin Cottage. Property is clean and modern and has everything you need for your stay. Portreath is a really nice place to base yourself to explore western Cornwall. Chinese takeaway was good as was Sanders fish and chips but disappointed with trip to Portreath Arms. Best pasties came from St Agnes bakery along the coast.

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful location
The house is very comfortable and has all the equipment you’re likely to need - and much more! It’s a short walk and a flight of steps to the lovely beach and has space for surfboards in the garage. The owners are very approachable and helpful. There are scenic walks along the cliffs tops, round the locality and the nearby country park and some really excellent food at the Portreath Arms and The Bait Shed. The harbour is picturesque and the beach is sandy with a few caves and rock pools. There is something for everyone and we highly recommend a stay in Puffin Cottage.

Super beach and house
The house is very clean and set up with everything you could reasonably need while on holiday. The beds are comfortable and the sofas too. Wi-Fi speed is excellent. The house is only a stone’s throw from the beach and also from the local shop, several cafes and a Chinese takeaway. So easy. And the beach itself was wonderful. Perfect for surfing or body-boarding, and there’s a well stocked surf shop in the village if you need to replace any kit. We loved our week here and wouldn’t hesitate to return and recommend it to friends.

Lovely cottage, ideal location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Puffin Cottage; it's a beautifully decorated and well maintained house, with the beach just a few seconds' stroll away. The owners also provided wine and Pasties on arrival which was a lovely touch. The village and beach were better than we'd expected (Google Street view doesn't do it justice), and we spent more time in the local area than elsewhere during our stay. Loved every minute, and already looking forward to our next holiday here!

Puffin cottage is lovely- tastefully decorated with some lovely touches and well equipped.Right on the doorstep of the beautiful Portreath beach and perfectly positioned to explore our other favourite North Cornwall surf beaches,pubs and walks at Porthtowan,St Agnes,ChapelPorth,Godrevy etc! Enjoyed our stay at Puffin cottage. As to be expected of a newly refurbished place, it was spot on. It is tastefully decorated with plenty of room for the six of us. For those who don't know Portreath it's right near the beach and the newly renovated playground. Our 11yr old grand son was made up with the new astro turf that's been laid. Richard, Helen, Michael, Hannah, Owen and Chloe.

A really good find!!!
Me and the guests were extremely pleased upon arrival at the property, as clear instruction had been provided by the property manager (as well as some complimentary goodies). The property was in very good condition, very modernised, but somehow still managed to maintain a nice bit of character. The location is amazing. Only 2 minutes from anything you need (shops/pubs/beach). The only downside to the location is that it is close to the harbour, which at times of the day can be very stinky (this seems to be due to the rotting seaweed when the tide is out). The beach however is a really nice place, with a few caves and rocky areas to explore. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Cornwall, as it is right in between St Ives and Newquay, which also have nice beaches (less than 30 min drive to each), but Portreath is much quieter than both (no gimmicks or arcade attractions).

Great cottage, lovely location
The cottage had very recently been done up and felt more like a hotel than a rental. Lovely touches with matching towels and wall paper. All felt very luxurious. Lots of nice touches such as board games. Good wifi. The location was lovely and a 1 min walk from the beach. Parking was easy. Portreath is a lovely place. Tamsin was very easy to work with and all arrangements went exactly as she planned. All in all a great stay!

Puffin cottage was just perfect for our Cornish Holiday. Beautifully decorated modern, clean and comfortable. and only a minute from the fantastic beach of Portreath. Its is in a great location for exploring the best parts of the north coast of Cornwall. The beaches are wonderful. The walks on the cliff tops, spectacular. a very enjoyable 2 weeks.
