Stayed for one week in a double room with a kitchenette and single bed in second room...exceptional views of Elizabeth Bay...location on MacLeay street perfect..easy walking distance to city, Art Gallery, Opera House etc. and easy access to public transport if required.
Though the furnishings are looking 'faded and jaded' and somewhat threadbare, the shower was perfect..however bath quite slippery on stepping in to shower (could be an OH&S issue)......bed very comfortable and kitchenette well equipped...
All in all a most enjoyable week and will definitely stay at the deVere again

Very small comfortable room, all we needed was a bed and a bathroom and it was fine. Clean room. Tap in bathroom leaked quite a bit. Shower water was hard to get at perfect temperature. Floors, doors and cupboard were very creaky but it wasn't a huge bother. Other than that it's a good room just to sleep in.

It was a nice enough hotel. Beds weren't the most comfortable and street traffic loud, as I had read in previous reviews. Breakfast was really good but $26 pp was way too much (fruit was canned, except for watermelon). I only tried a salad for dinner, as the menu was pricy, and I didn't want to pay all that money for a bad experience. The wait staff is a little too involved in other duties to really give the dining room the attention the customers deserve. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful when needed. I think they nickel and dime you about everything (mini bar, computer use for printing boarding pass, etc.). I also had to take more taxis to my destinations than I planned (not that convenient), but it worked out. I definitely would stay again.
We enjoyed a two-night stay in a well-equipped room with a terrific view. The room was spacious and the kitchen area was appreciated for self-catering. Street noise was not an issue, but we did hear a lot of coming and going from the hallway at night. The desk staff was a good resource for local information. This hotel is close to restaurants, a supermarket and nightlife. It's a lengthy walk to the CBD, but not unreasonable for those used to wandering through cities.
This is an old budget hotel (clean and recently renovated) to be used as an inexpensive comfortable place to stay and use as a base for exploring Sydney. The hotel is between relatively quiet streets. There are few tourist attractions in the immediate vicinity of the hotel and the nearby main roads have bars and adult entertainment establishments. The streets are fine during the day and early evening but one should use normal caution in the later night/early mornings.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Potts point is very busy, and car parking was a huge challenge. Although it is a great location, it's very close to Kings Cross. The roof top was perfect! I would recommend this hotel.

The street appeal was not great, but the staff were lovely, the room was spacious and had great facilities, very comfy bed. We enjoyed our stay there! There was a food market just around the corner and a great bristo along the road call borough! Would definitely stay there again!
