"This is a great cottage, we'd definitely go back. The location is ideal - a short drive to the big towns and walking distance to the village but still so quiet. Beautiful views (and sheep!). It was spotlessly clean and extraordinarily well equipped with utensils and little bits you might have forgotten, plus a very generous amount of food. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for you. Even the small kitchen still had room enough to cook a meal for five! Highly...

"good parking, nice garden, swimming pool etc good, large rooms, quiet, comfy bed and good breakfast. rooms could be a bit cleaner. Excellent for the price."

"Unfortunately we had a very soft mattress I spoke to the receptionist and our room was changed straight away where the bed had a firm mattress. All other aspects of the stay were excellent brilliant setting lovely food and excellent staff. The only small let down is bedroom wallpaper which could do with an upgrade."

"The hotel is very remote so we ate at the hotel restaurant. The menu was not vast but offered enough variety to cater for most. There is a huge hotel bar and hotel reception which offers plenty of seating. Rooms are fairly basic but sufficient for an overnight stay Would use again if in the area Pretty stream and waterfall immediately outside reception."

"Whilst the hotel bills itself as 4* in our view it's living on past glories. Our Delux room had only a velux roof window which could only be opened by standing on a chair so you had a better view of the sky only. At breakfast the only coffee choice was a cafetiere so espresso or latte luxury was not an option. The should rename it a Velux room, definitely not a Delux room"

"We were returning customers to Low wood bay @ the winander club. We were slightly disappointed to see that spa access was no longer included in Winander rooms but it is a beautiful spa, so we paid the extra £140. We were disappointed to find out if you wanted to borrow some slippers for the spa, they were also chargeable now. And on check out I was very shocked to see they were also now charging £12 per day to park your car if you hadn’t booked directly with them. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at a hotel that has charged you to use their car park, particularly after spending over £1000 on our stay. We left feeling disappointed and will chose to stay at other hotels in the lakes going forward now."
