Oxford Hotel Guide - Wedding Hotels in Oxford, England

The main hotel is very impressive, nice main hall, bar and restaurant. Unfortunately the room in the cottages was not the greatest. Wallpaper peeling and dirty marks on the wall.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to Blenheim Palace. A one night stay allowed us to make 2 separate visits to the Palace.

Check in was quick. We had a room above reception - no lift only stairs. Didn't try the evening menu as we went out but breakfast in the morning was good. The room was quiet with a comfortable bed. An ideal overnight stop for Thame and surrounds.

Nice hotel, pleasant surroundings and the staff were very courteous and efficient. We dined in on a Friday night and the food was very tasty, fine dining-esque.

Great staff. Great restaurant. Bed a little soft. Needed Air Con, fan provided.

lack of a lift was a challenge with a room n the 2nd floor and a 30kg suitcase. I'm 62 and noone offered to bring it up. Reception lady was rather foreign and frosty

No other hotel have made us feel cosy, welcomed, lively and at home like Penta. Really professional and friendly staff that made our every request a reality, thanks to front-desk staff like Leo, Ian and Amber. Vibrant unusual surroundings for a hotel, that we found amazing marketing concept. Large clean and modern rooms with all amenities. It could be perfect if an indoor pool or spa/massage facilities were offered. Great location In walking distance from the Central Reading for shopping and sightseeing and the rail station.

Had we known this is a wedding destination, we would not have stayed here on a weekend. We were given a room far in the back upstairs (62), but we could still hear the DJ both at 10:30 when we got back from an excellent dinner at The Coach and at midnight after we had a drink in the bar (hoping the noise would be over soon). Plus, since we were in the back, we heard all the bottles being thrown out into the bins. The wifi didn't work in the evening (it did earlier) so we gave up on making further travel plans. On the plus side, the room was a decent size and tastefully decorated with sitting chairs, and the bed was very comfortable. There was an espresso machine too. We didn't get conditioner or lotion in the room but the cleaning person was happy to provide them as well as help us get ice since our phone line wasn't working. I gave all this feedback to the person who checked us out.

Rooms are comfortable but major refurbishment of public areas is in progress. Bar and restaurant areas are quite small and crowded at busy times, hotel is out of town so a taxi is needed to get to Oxford sights, (parking in Oxford is impossible) Restaurant does not serve lunch - only bar snacks.
