The douglas house was very very nice! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
The only 1 thing I could say we were taken aback about was , the place is adult only which we like because our kids are grown and we dont really want to have to deal with , listen to , or share spaces with other people's children , but there were several guests that were very very comfortable in their bodies and were very rude in and around the pool most of the time . This property is truly amazing but what adds the extra star are the staff, Shawn made our holiday, could not do enough for us. The house is just beautiful and so much history and extremely central. Just a few things that would advise but doesn’t effect the overall place,
1) the room we were in was opposite checkin so can be a bit noisy at times
2) the light from the outside garden pool area is on all night and keeps the room very light at night.
These didn’t bother us but may affect others

Superb little hotel in a great location, with fab rooms and great service.
We were fortunate to ate to receive an upgrade to a room with an upstairs terrace area.
The pool below was great and a real sun trap.
The gardens are so well maintained with lovely planted walkways.
Breakfast was great and tasty.
Highly recommend a stay here and close to everything but still quiet and relaxing .

Great central Location.
Excellent facilities, rooms were immaculate and the morning coffee was very welcome as were the key lime cookies.
If I had one complaint it would be the $40 parking fee, luckily we found a space on the main road to park our hire car!

This is a lovely high standard B&B within walking distance of the old town. The atmosphere was excellent and the help faultless. I guess if I was to look for a fault it would be trivial but a kettle in the room would be nice. The breakfasts were excellent.

When is the best time to go to Old Town Key West?
The best time to visit Old Town Key West is generally from November to April, as this period offers the most pleasant weather conditions.
During these months, the weather is typically warm and sunny with lower humidity, making it ideal for exploring the island's outdoor attractions and enjoying activities comfortably. You'll find average temperatures ranging from the low 20s to high 20s Celsius. This avoids the intense heat and higher chance of rain that characterise the summer months.
Couples often find this period great for a romantic getaway. The cooler, drier air makes strolls along Duval Street more enjoyable, and dining al fresco is a delight. You can comfortably explore Mallory Square for the sunset celebration or take a leisurely bike ride through the historic streets without feeling overwhelmed by the heat.
For those looking for a relaxing escape, the period just before or after the peak winter season (late November/early December or April) can offer slightly fewer crowds while still maintaining excellent weather.
